  • hey, i went to the borehamwod store at opening this morning and there was very little in, the edgware branch still had a lot of survival kits left and a few other bits but was still very poor compared to last year, but i did come out with 2 large bags of goodies to keep me going.
any idea if brent cross had much? (probably silly question as if there was by the time i get there 2mo i bet it be empty of even survival kits) s

Went to piccadilly circus boots after having a sleepless night trying to shop online. Fantastic I got soap and glory spa pamper sets, sanctuary sets, ruby and millie, no 7, brag books, belgium chocolates and biscuits. I spent 45 pounds was able to make a saving of 130pounds. Got 3 snowies (was to ashamed to break my shopping down any further. Used my double points vouchers and 150 points voucher when you spend over 20pounds. When I got home I found a 250 voucher for no 7 in the no 7 indulgent bath set. So in boots terms I spent only 25pounds if you take into account the points and vouchers I received.

All in all I am very pleased with my decision to leave the stress of online shopping when I had richer pickings in store. Next year I won't bother to go online unless there is soap and glory available, getting up early and going to the store is the best bet.
You got S&G in today's 75% off?? Lucky lucky you!

:hello::hello::hello: Hello to the three ladies who spoke to DH in the Albion store today as he braved the sale.

First thing DH said to me as he fell off the train was "What did you say about me on MSE?"

    What? little me? :o

.....well, he isn't hard to miss & there were only 2 other men there! Now he thinks he's famous: that made my day :D

AND he found me some Emma Bridgewater :heartpuls pens & notebooks (all o/s here). Thank goodness he went!

By the time I got to Swansea Quadrant it was trashed - and only the things I didn't want were left, eg:
    - some dreary Botanics sets (red/green box)
    - the cheaper granny sets
    - Ted baker & FCUK £5 mens sets (loads of them)
    - ladies FCUK makeup bag with 2 rose shaped efforts & a spray
    - white collection £6 set ie £1.50 now
    - cupcake flannels
    - star trek cards
    - some cufflinks
    - 2 designs of xmas cards
    - choc coins
    - some choc slabs
    - boxes of chocs
    - biscuit columns
    - millions of mugs with a soft toy in/ hot choc mug
    - smashed 'experience' boxes
    - dozens of empty shelves
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Brent X, decimated! but I got there at 2.30pm and someone got the last big Gok set, the rest of the stuff had been opened/thrown around. For some reason loads of simpson spiderpig money boxes. Errm , few chocolate bits, really not much else.
  • i got a no7 box, big photo album, photo frames, a folding leather photo stand, and a few chocolates and drink products. Happy with my purchases :)

Leave the boots staff alone - they are allowed perks of the job and if they get bin bags full then fine.

How is that different to any of us getting a load of stuff to last us through all the events of the year?

Wendywoo has done me a huge favour today by getting me some items as i couldnt make it, she probably got some for other people too, someone would have seen her and thought - she's gonna ebay that. NO she's helping others out, out of the goodness of her heart
    .
So please dont assume that anyone with bags and bags full are just in it to make a profit. Not everyone is like that. They could also be helping others out to like family with small kids who cant make it. Granted - there will always be those who try and sell on ebay, but thats life. You win some you lose some the important thing is you live to fight another day.

As for the SA she could have been more tactful and said - No we didnt have any on stock and let you go on your way.

I still wanna see some boots stash piccies :)

As I've said I don't begrudge the SAs getting bargains, its a perk i've taken advantage of at my own job. It was really just because she was so smug about it! But I completely get your point!
