Boots after-Christmas sales - 75% off now over?

thanks, dh will ring boots or paypal tonight, i hate using the telephone, yeah went all mad for the hammies, daughter has played with them for half an hour, plus darn hammie keeps falling over in the much prized ball.

i have got most of xmas 2010 sorted for friends teachers and family part from my mum and dad, got some bits for them too though.
have made a start in the boys gifts and got at least 10 pressies2 each for them, got bits inbetween ie thomas tank book and hot water bottle cover ,
between marks, loyds and here im well pleased saved loads .
and now even just been confirmed my 1st pressie for me a no17 make up set , i dont wear it that much but have non at all as it got ruined so
in town at marks tomorrow so will pop in boots but not bothered if nothing left now as think donre ok in the sales and never went overboard either hehe

lol same here - whole lot is in pieces at side of dining room. My mum enjoyed them more than kids.

Fingers crossed after being up half the night I just got a vanity case which was an item I really wanted.

Well, quite pleased with what I got at Watford (Harlequin) this morning. Got there about 9.20 and stuff was disappearing rapidly, but got plenty of pressie gift sets for this year's birthdays (2 teenage daughters have lots of friends!) Nice Botanics for men set for DH & treated myself to a Boots Original Formula set. Toys shelves were virtually bare, and the gift sets were going fast, by now don't expect there will be much left except wrapping paper, chocs & those marshmallow mugs!

It was mostly good natured, but there were a few greedy people with far too much stuff, as usual - I don't know how on earth they were going to carry it out of the store! I do think a limit on number of items of a particular line per customer would be a good idea. And the silly woman in front of me who took every item out of the basket at checkout and asked how much it was before deciding whether to buy it or not was winding me up - there were helpful signs everywhere showing how to work out 75% of every price point and its not that hard!

No Sanctuary or Mediterranean, which was disappointing. But I'm pleased with my 2 bags full.

All good fun!

I just bought what I went in for,a couple of bits I had my eye on for niece and son, and had money left over so bought a big tin of belgian choccie biscuits for hubby to take in to work as a treat.I only spent £16.I might go back for christmas crackers for next years table.
Shocking to see how greedy people were being,clearing shelves just because it was cheap.I even heard one woman laugh and say she didnt have a clue who she could gift the things to she was buying,but it was cheap so she had to buy it.
Its only a small branch in my town and it was packed,dangerous and getting a bit scary when I was finished shopping at about 9.20am.
Good luck, I hope anyone who planned on shopping in the sale manages to get some of what you wanted.

I managed to get the £40 Gok Wan gift set for £4.50 in the Boots @ Retford. Not sure if it's an offical thing though, one of the SAs told me it was 75% off the SEL of £18 but scanned at £10. Had been speaking to the manager while I was shopping (small shop!) and he over rode it for me.
