Over 2000 posts and almost 275,000 views ... and the 75% off sale hasn't even stated yet :D

God help this site on Wednesday ;)

:rotfl:I know! Last week I stayed up until 3am and there was somewhere in the region of 400 people watching the thread, despite being advised it is probably not on. Dread to think what it will be like this week lol! Bring on the orange couple..............:T

This is what we were all advised to do last week in my local BOOTS store, even the manager advised us to buy it now then bring it back as long as we have a receipt, so looks like you can do it after after all, straight from the mouth of the BOOTS MANAGER !!!!

I suspect there are quite a lot of peeps doing this (not me guv, I am on the straight and narrow with the no more toiletries challenge!!). This might explain why the stock levels have dwindled so much in recent days!!! :rotfl:

I thought makeup and toiletries could not be returned for health and safety reasons?

just to let people in leeds know, yesterday I went to Birstall, Crown Point and White Rose Boots.......Birstall had practically no stuff what so ever....I would estimate about 20 items max...all battered and bruised! Crown point had a bit more, a couple of short aisles.....but nothing really interesting at all....mostly the lavender/rose (old peoples :p) stuff.....and white rose was again a bit more....still not much at all but seemed to have slightly more variety........I will be heading to WR on weds...unless someone else can suggest somewhere better....still havent checked kirkstall although a few days ago someone said they had nothing.....seems Leeds people arent gonna get many bargains :(

I'm going to try my luck at the Albion Street Store, which is where I've gone for the last 2 years, in the hope that they too have a 'magic storeroom' !!

  • Sorry if I've misunderstood ellisnicole, but if your store manager let you all buy stuff at 50% off then you'll get to return it all with the receipt when the 75% off sale starts, then buy it again at 75% off, I don't understand why you were so upset last week? You'll be in a much better position than anyone else, as you've already got your choice of the items, and you'll get them at 75% off?

Think you would have had to be there to understand !!!!! we were lied to which was wrong, we were told there was never going to be a 75% sale !! there were about 50 over ladies in the store and some were on the phone to H/O who confirmed that there was going to be a sale, finally the Store Manager admitted that there was and that it was cancelled, fair enough but why coulnd't she have said that at the begining, no way was I going to buy at 50% and have the agro, I was only commenting and saying that this is what we were told, sorry if my coment confussed you !
  • Not being funny but why would they allow you to return them at the price you paid then buy them back at 75% off? They wouldn't have extended the date until the 75% off if you could do this. I think its awful that anyone would go back and ask to do this, makes you wonder why companies bother doing deals like this. No doubt the same people will be taking these goods back for a refund when it goes to 90% off

Like I said theres no actual rule against it, well not in the company I work for, as if you are within the refund period you are entitled to a refund and you are entitled to buy items. Its just not really the done thing and if you openly told a sales advisor thats what you wanted to return items to buy them back cheaper then they would be funny about it. I work in retail and I know when poeple have come in to do that in our store in the past (our sale used to go to bogof) we have been abit funny about it but not really much we could say but if you had gotten a SA on a bad day they would have probably refused. It all comes down to profit and in my company our bonus it based upon reach daily targets and making more than them and by refunding something then selling it back cheaper we are loosing money so decreasing the amount made that day thus reducing our bonus!

But as your boots manager has said you can do it then I would take advantage hehe But I dont think many other people at other stores will be able to get away with it, worth a try though hey? hehe Did he tell you this on the day you thought 75% sale was starting by any chance? Maybe said it to calm you all down and give you a compromise?
  • Please can someone tell me what the No7 ultimate collection is? I tried searching for it to see what the interest was all about but nothing came up....
