A total moral victory and for the most part one for commonsense too. I agree with rupee99, return to work, keep your head down and spend as much time as you can finding a decent employer.Oh, and by the way... you were wrong Anihilator.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
As for the above poster (Anihilator) 10/10 for consistency which has earned my nomination for the MSE Ivor Nuthinsensibletosay Award, 2010.0 -
Well done in your case, i would return to work, just get on with the tasks involved BUT be seriously looking for another job.
I truely hope that the matter doesnt make your collegues treat you differntley. And if they have another works party, well probably not go......BSC member 137

WELL DONE, good result in the end. I would still be looking for a new job though to be honest. If that manager has it in for you he will find a way and its best to jump then be pushed.
Well done though.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Well done - you return to work and the sales manager's comments are to be investigated.
Was the warning for your behaviour towards the sales manager or for your behaviour towards the second manager who you told to f--- off ? If the former, I would appeal the warning (you have nothing to lose by doing so). If the latter, maybe just learn from all this and move on.
Does the 'final warning' have a time limit on your personnel file? It should.
I would say that you should continue to look for another job, because as soon as you are five minutes late for work or some project or other doesn't turn out well then they could force you out. Much easier to find a job when you currently have one.
You will no doubt return to your previous policy of not attending any work socials.
Well done again. :j0 -
What Rupee said.
I've been following too. Seriously well done for standing up for yourself, and the others who would doubtless have come up against your autocratic manager if you hadn't clipped his tailfeathers.

Hey...this is fantastic news, I can almost sense the relief you've felt today, excellent.:j:T......yey, a victory for common sense.
Now would it be remiss of me to suggest an office party to celebrate....:rotfl:. xDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Brilliant news, and please let us know what happens to the manager!
I've just started my own dispute against my manager for unfair treatment... The all important lesson of standing up for yourself when you're in the right, and not letting bullies win!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
wahoo! wahoo! wahoo!:j
although, it is tempered by the final written warning:(.
it is difficult to know whether to appeal or not, but then as you say 'big lesson learned and then some'.
but, it is great that you have been able to use the collective unbiased help and knowledge from this site.
chillax as they say! and enjoy your last week off - mind you, i expect you will have some annual leave left to take;).
just out of interest, who do you think has been covering your job whilst you have been off?0 -
Hey OP, I have been following this thread with interest, never added to it as I have no knowledge of the necessary procedures but I'm thrilled it seems to have turned out well for you.
Best wishes... and hope the manager gets his comeuppance! :jSealed Pot Challenge Number 1225
