How interesting! HR just emailed me and told me that the company does not have a Substance Abuse Policy.
Where does that leave me????

I don't think it makes much difference to be honest unless you want to confess to having a substance problem and get their help with it?
Otherwise it would be covered under the discliplinary process of gross misconduct.
Tbh If I was you I would keep quiet now and see the outcome of the hearing rather than clouding it with irrelevent policies etc.0 -
OP - By the time you read this you will probably be back from your disciplinary, therefore, I shall say that I hope it went well. If you haven't set off yet or are accessing the forum, en-route change that to Good luck.0

What news?
Hoping it went well.....Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Hope it went well, and if it didn't it may only be a short term setback, They have behaved like amateurs, and appear to be making it up as they go along.0

Thanks Anihilator... wrong side of bed again?
Erm, yeah I had my meeting, I handed them the statements that DirectDebacle very kindly spent a lot of time helping me out with, and in light of those (they ripped the evidence to shreds) they have decided to go away and have a word with all the managers who were there and try to fill in the holes.
Thus it has been postponed, they have said that they are not going to pursue the drugs charges as "it's 50/50 really" its just the threatening behaviour. When I asked if he specified any threats, they said no, it was the manner I was speaking to him and being in his face. In a loud pub... Christ, I was 6'1 talking to someone who was 5'7/5'8 in a very loud bar, i'm gonna need to hunch over him.
Just crazy really. The manager conducting the disciplinary was great, even gave me a pat on the shoulder as I was escorted out the front door.
Now i'm playing the waiting game again... fantastic.0 -
Are you going to be pursuing the inappropriate behaviour of the manager that started all this in the first place?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
As soon as I'm out of the mire, yeah, of course!0

This is all wrong. They didn't even realise there were any holes until you pointed them out today. They have had over six weeks to fill them in but instead rested on their laurels and stonewalled your requests for information.
Now they are going to test the memory of drunks 6 weeks after they have sobered up and are armed with the correct answers should the managers memories be even fuzzier than they were the morning after!
If you are dismissed then this is going to make your appeal even stronger.0
