I'd be ringing them up mate, this looks to me like your getting sacked, if they take you back they want you back asap if they aren't taking you back they tend to drag things out. And If you do get sacked I'd take it further because unelss there is something that you haven't made us aware of, it is a complete joke!
I'd have also sought advice in regards to deformation (sp?) of character, he was trying to force you into saying you were a druggie without any hard evidence, he is potentially ruined your reputation without evidence, that is clear enough to warrant you suing him in my eyes.Poverty 2012 - F**K My low wage!0 -
Actually probably a letter in the post that hasnt arrived due to the weather saying back in work today, you haven't recieved the letter so not turned in so you will now get another discplinaryPoverty 2012 - F**K My low wage!0

I would also be getting a bit concerned as, if the letter that is in the post is asking you to come back to work, I would have thought they would have phoned you as well in order to minimise the number of lost work days.0

100% agree, if someone had made up accusations about me that resulted in my getting the sack I'd be suing their backside off. Good luck OP, if your employers have any sense they will get it dealt with, the doofus in question will get told to stop telling tall tales, and everyone gets to move on.Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
Cripes ... I've just read this through and I'm shocked. Good luck and keep fighting it through to the end.
If I were you I'd be treating the drug use (A) and the aggressive behaviour (B) as 2 separate issues and addressing them as such in any formal meetings / hearings you have. Allegation A is false and damaging to your reputation and should not be left to drift in with Allegation B. Allegation B on the other hand is unfortunately open to how people interpret aggression and whether it was unprovoked. I hope you can convince them that your actions were completely justified in the situation you were put in!
Once this is over (whatever the outcome) I would put in my own formal complaint for the slanderous accusation. Our company’s drug policy clearly states that if you know of someone doing drugs, you must report it formally and confidentially. Your manager, in my opinion, has acted in a much worse way than that which you have been accused. The way he dealt with his suspicions of your drug use was completely out of line, against policy I suspect and harassment.
Good Luck with everything and virtual hugs to you and your wife. The waiting can't be easy.
Just to add- after reading yet another thread hijacked by Anhilator's less than helpful advise, I have now added him to my ignore list. Never personally had a thread conversation with him but it actually makes me so sad to read his posts that I had the habit of skimming right over them. Why would you want to be that person??House saving Targets:

wow. Im not going to wade through all 15 pages of replies but thats the wackiest thing I've ever heard. Your getting accussed of making sniffing noises whilst on the toilet. This guy is clearly an out and out, complete LUNATIC. Laugh at him. Ignore him. If that dont work: Send an email out to the entire company and lambast the ba@stard. Go to town; serve this guy up a big fat dish of cold cold revenge. Do a number on him. Dig up some dirt and put up a few posters. Hire a few thugs to break his legs. USE YOUR IMAGINATION. It sounds like WAR to me pal dont take it lying downHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Well guys,
I got my letter this afternoon, they are pushing it to a disciplinary.
In the letter they enclosed all copies of witness statements received, including statements from people who weren't there (office apprentice girl and a guy who sits close to my desk)
The office girl's statement said that I offered her drugs she told somebody who said I was obviously joking, but she is "not so sure now"
The other statement was from someone whose desk is near mine and he has commented that me and my manager have been having discussions in the past regarding my performance.
One statement said that yes, i had complained of being ill throughout that week, but i was too busy to see a doctor which would never have stopped me before.
In that statement it also said that my eyes looked "funny" and that they had looked funny at the christmas party that took place the week before this one.
2 witness statements were on my side and pretty much said what I handed to them.
Seems like they're trying to throw as much !!!!!! against the wall in hope that some of it will stick.
Called up quite a few no win no fee solicitors etc, apparently it costs thousands to get a defamation case through, so all of them refuse to take them on... apparently costs in the region of around 15-20 grand to see them through and if the person sued doesn't have means to pay then they take it from you.
I think i'm screwed... over to you guys.0 -
Sorry they are pushing it, can't believe they are taking it this far!0

Time to see a solicitor who does employment law imo.0

The office girl's statement said that I offered her drugs she told somebody who said I was obviously joking, but she is "not so sure now" I am not sure the relevance of this at all...this does not construe any evidence for anything.
The other statement was from someone whose desk is near mine and he has commented that me and my manager have been having discussions in the past regarding my performance. Again, what has this got to do with anything? Bosses are supposed to talk to their staff aren't they? Has your boss mentioned any worries about your performance before?
One statement said that yes, i had complained of being ill throughout that week, but i was too busy to see a doctor which would never have stopped me before. Again, what is the relevance of you not seeing a doctor; doesn't this back up the claim that you weren't well?
In that statement it also said that my eyes looked "funny" and that they had looked funny at the christmas party that took place the week before this one. How funny? In what context were they 'funny'? Funny peculiar or funny 'haha'?
