Royal redelivery 7am-6pm?

I had something delivered at 7am that I wasn't expecting and I have to admit that even though it was a weekday I was still in bed... So I took the card to work to call the sorting office, but they've changed the cards so you don't get the number of your local sorting office, you get an 0845 number (maybe you just got the local number in Wales). So I called that, and went through a load of options and then got the whole 'we are experiencing a high call volume, go and do it online'.
So I went and did it online, specified delivery for Friday am and got confirmation, woke up in good time, and nothing. I deliberately specified Friday as it was bf's work do on Friday night and I knew I wouldn't want to get up to answer the door on Saturday morning. Did it come on Friday? Of course not! It came on Saturday morning at 7.30am. was I awake? Of course not! I've only just been able to pick it up today.
Also the first card was filled out in blue biro and guess what? There's now a nice blue biro squiggle on my white-painted front door where the postman has obviously had the uncapped pen in his hand and knocked on the door. I did mention that at the sorting office this morning, but doubt anything will happen.

No I want monetary compensation for the mental distress this has caused me. I also want my door repainted at the expense of RM.I dunno, an apology would have been appreciated. There's no way that he wouldn't have noticed, it is a big squiggle, it's not like it's just a fingerprint smudge. Maybe it's taught him to put the lid back on his pen though!

I was expecting it early rather than late..so been up since 7am.. regular postie..still no redelivery..am doubting it will come now
I rearranged it online, never done that before, but like yourself was directed to website by the new 0845 number.
Still got the curtains open..in a faint hope it will come lol..will it be a big van?? seems so silly for something that would fit through the letterbox!! ..nevermind...warm inside..shall hang tightOU Law studentMay Grocery challenge£30/ £110 -
I missed a delivery a week ago and requested online to be delivered to my local Post Office. I was advised it would be there 2 days later. After going every day for a week with no show I called the sorting office ( managed to get through!!!) and was advised it was just returned back to them that day- 7 days later. They said it would be at my PO the next day.
What makes it worse though is that I had emailed online to ask where it was. The day I collected it I was emailed to say they gave their apologies but it had been returned to sender. Communication is obviously not in their remit!Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -

I don't think the redelivery system works really. Not in my area anyway. I asked for redelivery for something on a Saturday since I'd be at work during the week and missed the delivery attempt, and stayed in just to be sure all day and it never came, so I requested another redelivery to my work address for the Tuesday, come Tuesday they tried to deliver to my home address. It was a recorded item so would have been sent back to sender if I left it until the next weekend so I wasted my entire lunchtime and ate into some work time travelling to the sorting office to pick it up. Not sure why they give you the option of choosing days or changing delivery address if they just ignore it."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

its not a case of ignoring, often as not its down to time
the people organising the redeliveries and physically digging out the packets, the people checking/clearing the online system, the posties on delivery
i have posted before about the cuts/timings in RM just now and we are reaching the point where peopl are tired of running around trying to make it work
so now the cracks appear0 -
I absolutely appriciate the work the posties do..so really no biggie.. it was snowy anyway couldnt of gone out if I wanted today!
I know they are delivering tommorow, so fingers x'd it will come..if not will send my old man to get it in the car on monday..I dont drive so cant get to the sorting office myselfOU Law studentMay Grocery challenge£30/ £110 -
