  • I've just made some cranberry sauce with 'alternative' ingredients for Christmas Day.

We did it in one of my classes with cranberries, sugar and white wine.

I don't have any white wine, but I know orange juice can be used.

I don't have any orange juice.......but I do have a carton of tropicana tropical fruit juice and orange juice is the number 1 ingredient!!

I also added an icecube's worth of the plum and chilli sauce I made a few months back

So, it's done and cooling in a dish.

Seems to taste ok  :rotfl:

Sounds good BB! I love cranberry stuff, but I wouldn't know what to do with real ones!

I've just spoken to mum, her kitchen water pipes have frozen, and the car wouldn't start so she had to walk to work this morning. I'm glad I didn't go over, it sounds like it's been bad there.

Lou - What did you put in your rocky road? I made some during the week with cranberries, walnuts, marshmellows, choccy digestives and white chocolate chips in....didn't last long :D (but it did finish off lots of odd packs of stuff)

BB - That cranberry sauce sounds yummy! Has OH been in touch?

Had a nice lunch with in-laws - DH had a fall tho so not so great. Came home, had a nap, watched carp on telly and now eating fruit and drinking gallons of water in an effort to counteract all the rich foods I've had lately.

well, for 150g cranberries (half a bag of the Tesco fresh ones)

    3 ounces sugar
    3 tbsp orange juice (:D)

melt the sugar and juice in a pan over a low heat. Add the cranberries and cook for about 10 minutes until some of the berries have popped, keep stirring it. Transfer to a dish and it will set as it cools.

  • Evening all!

Well, I'm finally back. The service was fun and it was good to catch up with friends before Xmas. I then went to my friend Abi's house for Sun lunch and we watch Muppet's Christmas Carol. I feel really Christmassy now, at last. :D

I really should be packing my bag for tomorrow but I'm knackered. So I think I'll have an incredibly early night and do it in the morning. Talk tomorrow.
