    Xmas Saver!

I have made cross stitch cards before. Firstly I put them on ebay but there's there's so many people selling on there I had no chance. Afterwards I gave them my Mum to sell at the club she goes to. They went really well and I even had loads of orders, but the time spent making them far outweighed the price of selling them. I worked it out once - I was getting about 40p an hour. So i gave up! Obviously though normal cards are different as they don't take quite so long.

Could you sell them anywhere - school, local toddler group, etc. I worked in a hairdressers once who had a little stand of homemade cards on the counter, you could ask around. You could even try ebay as I tried years ago.

All I can say is try it ... you'll never know otherwise.

Totally agree re the cost factor, I do knitting, whilst can knit a baby's cardigan from one ball wool £1.00, its the hours that go into it, takes 8 hours, I'd only charge £2.00 for it, if a friend asked to knit and they'd pay. its pennies, so just knit for pleasure.

If its xmas crafting cards, then maybe near xmas if one of the schools nearby has an xmas fete, most top up the empty tables as tabletop sale, maybe share with a friend and have the cards as part of the display.

In all honestly people outside of a crafting element don't realise the time and effort actually involved. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I just read the diary post Pammy, I don't think you should feel bad at all. At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for your kids. They must be bored at the childminder's if she's not doing anything with them so they'll have much more fun at the holiday club and also learn more social skills.
It's not your fault the childminder finds herself in a bad situation right now. Yes it's a shame, but it's not your problem as she is not your responsibilty, your children are :) Perhaps if she had done more with them you wouldn't have felt you needed to look elsewhere, so maybe it will encourage her to become better at her job and put more into it.

It will be a bit awkward while you still have to see her, but try not to let her change your mind. You can't run your life based on what suits her!

Is the wool doubleknit wool, just got pattern for mitts for girls, uses double knit and fluffy wool (came in knitting kit for dd, borrowed the pattern to make adult mitts).

Anyone expecting a baby - pink / lilac girls - white for either
    xx

Yes, I think it is. If I can make something that knits up really quickly then I could possibly sell them, but again not sure where! I've seen some really cute mini knitted jumpers made into keyrings which i could do. Or even mini socks, I suppose! Would be very cute...

Depending on how big they are, could you sell the mini knitted jumpers on Ebay for card makers? I have seen them used for new baby cards. Same for little socks perhaps.

For the jumpers you could knit ones like these, they wouldn't take long at all to knit.

The knitting pins are cocktail sticks with a seed bead stuck on the end.

How about little girls handbags? I used to make these when I was about 8 and sell them to all the neighbours. Here's an idea.

Edited to add: Harry Hill's knitted character's are selling like hotcakes on ebay at moment. Here's the pattern. If you make one I'd love to buy one off you for my little girl. xxx
