Could it be used as a sauce over a pudding or would it need to be just a wee bit thicker, if it can then I'll be making more of it for other people.0

I woudl think it would be better thicker.0

Thank you Maysie, I might try and find something to thicken it up and see if it works.0

I love this syrup so much i just have to share it. I was tempted into costa coffee to much because of this drink last year its just so christmassy and warming.
So i found a good recipe and made it myself this year to save money. Its very easy to make and takes just 20 minutes
Gingerbread Syrup
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extractCombine the water, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla in a small to medium saucepan.Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. When done, pour into a melt-proof container and let cool. It will thicken a bit more once cooled.

Just add a glug to hot milk and strong coffee for perfection or just a normal coffee for total easey peasyness. I drink coffee black and its nice in there as well.
Cheap jugs from 99p store have cups written on them which is good as so many recipes seem to use cups now.
I usually put mine in a plastic container with a pouring spout in the lid that flips up i got it in the 99p store.
Today i gave school staff some of the syrup in a nice glass bottle that i had some cherry squash in previously (through the dishwasher twice before i used it). I made a nice label with an intersting font and printed it out then used some craft scissors to give it more of a fancy label type edge.
I advise storing it in the fridge. I have not seen anything about how to store it but its normally gone within 2 weeks in my house!.
I hope this helps out some other gingerbread latte addicts.
You are my new favourite person. I only tend to have one or two of these a year because there isn't a starbucks near me, but it literally spells the start of the Christmas season to me. X0 -

Thanks for the tweet Andrea, I will be trying this out! There are some great gems hidden away on this Forum.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Bumping again!
I'm just about to give it a go, although I have a feeling it won't help my Nespresso addiction...0 -
I bought some in Sainsburys last week. Think the brand was Monin. I tried to make it myself last year but it was very grainy.Bossymoo

A bottle of this would make a lovely, dead cheap Xmas present - a moneysavingly old, washed glass bottle with a ribbon round the top, maybe a little card stating how much per cup or something like that. Perhaps a few home-made amaretto biscuits too and there are recipes online for those.0
