I keep my S/E accounts up to date, so as soon as the forms go online in April, I can copy across the figures for that bit. I fill in the employment sections as I get the P60's in the post, so it's usually submitted by the end of May-ish.

RM are back today HP. We had post this morning.

My postie must have fallen over on the ice then. Hope he hasn't lost my wee envelopes.:rotfl:

No post today. I thought the Royal Mail was back today. I am off out to freeze to death. Cu all later.

    Brrrr;)
I got some post today, but not much. I did get a form from GFK as I am doing some work for them for which they want me to be an employee rather than self-employed. Hoping that this means regular work, fingers crossed.

MS companies are evidently back at work too today, I've been assigned a car circuit for Bare and a couple of DIY stores on TNS. My diary is looking quite busy for early January, which is good news.

Right been accepted at GFK finally, so I'm looking forward to getting access to jobs. Are they good to work for? It's taken ages for them to accept applications in my area so I'm excited.

My diary is looking VERY empty. Only got one MS and thats tomorrow. Hmmm...I'm feeling unloved.

Well done, persistence pays off in the end. I like GFK on the whole. They tend to have an awful lot of bank assignments, but the pay is OK and the questionnaires are generally pretty sensible. I've had a few issues with them recently, but usually find them to be one of the more hassle free companies to work for.

yey i got my two esa jobs :j doesn't look like anyone else in my area has applied for any as they are all still there! the instructions for data entry are very different from the previous assignments, is this because it is a food store (only done pharmacies and banks) or is this new? looks abit complicated

Oh good for you. Just rushed over to ESA, my number of applications has reduced but not yet been given any. I guess they are working their way through them currently.
  • I've applied for 23 ESA food store jobs. Just hope they don't allocate them all to me!! I'm guessing I'll get zero!

  • I have been given 1 ESA job, other 10 still available.

Surprise surprise though, it is the most out of the way location down a B road for quite a few miles. (obviously none of their own staff fancied doing that one!!)

It varies from job to job. You get paid per job rather than a wage and they give an estimate of how long it will take.

Best case scenario: you walk in, everything is set up, there are no problems, nothing needs doing and you walk out again.

Worst case scenario: you walk in, the promotion hasn't been set up, there is hardly any stock out, the stock inventory system is wrong and a manager rants at you about things that are out of your control.

Usually it's somewhere in the middle of the two! You need to be confident and good at speaking with people as you have to speak with various people from managers down to shop floor staff and warehouse assistants, visit an office to get POS material printed for you, visit stock control and have them check the system and correct any errors and visit the warehouse to count stock. You need to be physically fit too as you may have to pull stock forward onto the shopfloor to fill fixtures up.

Some people like it and some people don't. Probably best to give it a go and see how you feel after you've done a few jobs.

I've been given 1 ESA job too. They actually rang me up about it as it wasn't on the system. It's in an out of the way village but it's sort of on my way home next week, so not too much hassle to fit it in.
Here I go again on my own....
