I'm gutted that they seem to have taken the supermarket client from GR
Out of all the MS companies I work for, I find Gyp staff to be the most rude.

I don't think RE have definitely taken the client yet. Interestingly enough I had a GR job for said client this week. The brief had changed and included some of their previous questions but had the addition of the self serve tills like the RE brief.
Seems to be a fight on....Client obviously doing comparisons!

Totally agree about Gyp but reckon they must work in a large call centre and have massive targets put on them. Taught to be pushy and relentless. I have images of them all in a dark bunker and not allowed out unless they have forced a burger down 100 shoppers an hour!

i have spoken to gap twice and both times they were very nice and friendly. however they have !!!!ed me off this week as a week or so ago i got an email saying another shopper had not done their visit to a chicken place so they would have to re-schedule mine. they did this for a week day and i replied and asked them if i could do it on a weekend (sat or sun on any one) as originally requested as i could only do it at the weekends. they replied and said no and cancelled it! really annoyed me as whilst i'm sure the shopper had a good reason not to do it i was not happy that because of them i have now lost out :(

was suposed to do it today and to make it worse walked past one at dinner time and it smelt really good and i wanted one (esp after being told i didn't weigh enough for diet pills :rotfl:) refused to pay for one out of principle!

Has anyone actually ever been paid a referral fee by RE?

I've referred many people from this thread, several are showing on my list, but none of them have even signed up let alone completed any jobs, and the one person that has completed a job (a friend from school), I've never been paid for!

Is this "referral scheme" actually a big con?

I've referred a few people, and the only one I got paid for was my wife!

Interesting how so many seem to complain about RE but still carry out their jobs.

RE people are generally a really nice bunch, but they are let down by a lousy IT system.

I'm also quite a fan of RE. In general if I don't think the fee is worth it, I won't take the job. However I wouldn't ever say that people shouldn't take the jobs, if you're happy doing the jobs for the price on offer then go for it.

On the other side though I don't rely on MS to get by. If you need to take the jobs to get money and decreases in fees mean you end up having to work twice as hard so I can understand the frustration.

I think that is a good point - I only do MS in addition to my day job so am not relying on the fees to get by. If I was, I would probably be quite upset with the fees being about a fiver for most jobs. It's not just RE though - I stuggle to make the take out Pizza jobs break even for gap and their burger ones are not exactly well paid. There is also a TNS coffee job that as far as I can tell has no fee.

Finally I should also say that I am not too upset to see RE get the supermarket job from GR. I never got offered one with GR but can apply for any one I like (within 50 miles..) for RE. I just hope RE don't get their hands on the Cat jobes done by someone else!
