I have finally got round to filling in some of the jobs I have done on UKMonkey's snazzy excel file and it was going great but I seem to have come up against a problem on the MS Companies tab for the "Rcvd" and "Outstanding" columns. Whatever I do, I can't seem to get these columns to show the right value for more than one company name at a time. Does anyone who has used this spreadsheet know how to get these columns to work?

The write-up is pretty ok. I suppose it depends on how you do these. I like buying cars and was trained up as a kid to haggle so I quite enjoy them. However, it does depend on the dealership and I get quite shirty when they want to spend an hour or so giving me "an experience". I do try my very best to get the absolute best deal too so it can get quite a struggle but it's what you make it. If you are confident, these are fine to do. I don't think you need to know about cars, just be able to identify the spec properly from doing a bit of research online first.

I think the key thing is to make them pay, if the circuit is too widely spread, I'm not sure it's worth it as the mileage can add up and the fee is in euros.

    Hi All,

Without wanting to sound like a total muppet, what's to stop someone doing these audits visiting a location, taking a photograph and just making up the report and price/deal offered?

Integrity and CCTV are probably the main factors...

You have to get a business card from them...

But this is an audit for a competitor, so they will have no access to the CCTV system, nor will they be able to identify a particular member of staff. The briefing notes say that you can submit a photograph of the dealership if you are unable to get a business card. A quick check on the internet would confirm the availability of a particular model.

I'm not saying for a minute that I would do this because I always approach my MS's with integrity and honesty, but it seems entirely possible that someone could just take a photo at every other dealership and submit the report accordingly.

:confused:I'm doing my first costume jewelery job for React. To enter the results by email, do I have to fill out the questionaire by hand, scan it then send it as an attachment?
I've done coffee shops for them that were just entered into the site, so though all the jobs would be like that.

Yes you can scan it or fax it in. I did my first before Christmas and have more this week. The forms are a nightmare  and I couldn't figure out which type of stand I was assessing from the grainy pictures in the notes.
  • Is there a knack to getting work with ESA? I have applied for a few jobs now and have had nothing, not even a mail to say I havent got them, they just dissapear from my applications.

If they are really difficult to get work with then I might just give up on them as I try to plan a few jobs together to make it worthwhile, then find that I dont have the esa jobs so have a 20 mile trip for one vist!
