    Hi guys,

    This is a good idea for a thread, but there are a couple of important exceptions that need to be made, namely medical and financial advice as per the stickies here and here.

    Please make sure you are not offering to give advice of this nature :)

    Hi, just finding my feet... however...

    I run my own recruitment business... now before you run for the hills, I will help anyone with writing of CV- I do this a lot.. don't make any charge as I feel it's my volunteering.. I've also helped a lot of, shall we say people older even than me to find 'proper' jobs so if anyone wants help let me know.

    To be honest I don't even just represent people as candidates and make a charge to companies- i have often just tried or got people jobs because they're good people and shouldn't have to rely on the job centre etc.. if anyone needs help anyone can just ask- the worst that happens will be that I can't find you a job but even so I'll try to give you job hunting and CV tips. We're all in it together!

    Know I'm a new poster but don't want to post a SOA etc as shortly moving and all will change, bear with me!

    xx

    This may be more appropriate for the Housebuying and Mortgages board, but I'll put it anyway.

    Iworked in Town Planning until 2004 and can give advice on planning permission (with the proviso that the Act may have changed since 2004).

    Great thread, I am impressed by the quality of the people who post on this board, a little about me;

    I work as a development manager for a large consumer electronics company, my specialism is AV/IT and I have almost 20 years experience in sales and customer services in the IT industry including call centre roles, field sales etc.

    I have also done Customer Services and Accounts (nothing too deep) in my "need a job any job" phases in life. In my pre child era I was in the Department of Employment (early 80's) specialising in counting elastic bands which dated from pre WWII. My specific benefit knowledge is out of date but the experience reminds me that I am very lucky to have a great job now and that some very hardworking people get hit with redundancy and it turns their life upside down.

    I am a mum of 2 lovely young adults, have been a single mum and now happily married to DH2 who is lovely. In my SP days I was in debt because I had a mortgage, 2 babies and an ex who thought not paying maintenance was a challenge. I didn't have enough money coming in to exist even when working but what doesn't kill you makes you strong.

    I learned about finances the hard way, the bank had me by the wotsits but now I'm in charge, my family and friends ask me for advice and I have helped more than one of them to get out debt even before I found this site.

    I have done a bit of travelling and plan to do more, I am a competent cook, can even knit and do cross stitch, learning to run, working on losing weight and winning:j authority on wine ( conflicts with the weight loss LOL)

    Hi gang

    I am a Qualified Dental nurse who works for a local pct, where we provide a service for patients who currently do not have a dentist of their own, who are now in severe pain and require immediate treatment.

    Obviously I cannot diagnose but I can try to help you round the mine field of NHS dentistry, or as I have worked in private practice for 11years, help with any queries.

    Money on the other hand....................just take me out and shoot me. :j
