    349.5p :T

Who'd have believed it in July 2006?

The distinguished Sunday Times Money editor suggested holding off purchases until the price had dipped below £2.
And in fact the price did, very briefly, dip to 190p - although if you'd blinked you would have missed it.

    Now a more comforting 232p.
  • And rising ... :)

Trevor Matthews the head of Standard Life’s UK retail division, is set to be appointed as the new chief executive of Friends Provident, after resigning from Standard Life.

Let hope this does not have a kncok on effect on the share price.

I wondered whether this might be why the shares have dropped again to £2.15.

Please does anyone know if you can get a Share Certificate for these shares and if so, how do you go about it? (I'm talking about the ones issued originally to SL policy holders)

Reason I ask is because I'm an executor of an estate that has some of these shares. I've sent off the Letter of Request form and the Probate certificate to Computershare and they have now sent back information that an internal transfer has been completed and the shares are now in my name as the executor.

However, I think to be able to sell them so the proceeds can go to the beneficiary I would need a share certificate (or have to use Computershare for the transaction which may not be the best value route) - am I right in thinking this?

Any advice would be appreciated as I'm not used to this share dealing malarky :o

No you don't need a cert. You can sell them through the Computershare Dealing Service without one. If you want to go through another stockbroker or bank then you will need the cert. (not worth the hassle imo)
