  • craft fair in banbridge rugby club , on friday 3rd of december 2010 , tables still available , to book phone paula on 07519877584 . proceeds in aid of NSPCC .
  • I haven't even done my first Craft Fair yet - first one Saturday -and I am a little freaked out by some of the comments I've read in the last couple of posts, from you more experienced crafters ,about the difficulties you have faced.

Please reassure me that it won't be that bad.

I have wanted to get out there and 'show my stuff' for a while now and I am starting to dip my toe in the water.

Mine isn't ' created from scratch' either. I figured that I have told the organisers what I do, so they must think it is okay!!!

I thought it would be a good way of getting out and about - are other people really that bad? You all sound really nice.....

    I'm hoping to enjoy myself a little bit whilst I'm out there - I will won't I?!:undecided

Oh and - I've seen Michael Buble at the Waterfront and I would gladly have thrown my knickers at him had I been close enough - he is V. SEXY!! ( Not sure hubby sitting next to me would have been overly impressed - but hey, he knew what I was like when he married me)
  • Mumoffour77 mentioned about getting registered with HMRC. I have looked at HMRC website and I can't see anywhere obivous I can do that? Any help from someone in the know?

Also anyone heading to craft fair at magheragall methodist church on Saturday.

Just go for it- you will have a great time, most of the guys out there are actually really nice and like to have a lot of fun, so you will get on great. Sometimes I really do miss seeing everyone, I met some wonderful people who are now life long friends (Smokie included!!!). The craft fair circuit is a very social network so is a great way to get out and about. I was really nervous as well at first, but believe me you will get such a thrill out of people buying your stuff- I know I did, I at the time never ever thought anyone would buy my stuff and when they did...WOW! It really was an amazing feeling.

With regard to not making your stuff from scratch, neither did I, if the organisers say its ok well they they are the only people you should be worried about. I know I said i encountered some negativity, but I guess out of the dozens and dozens of fairs I have done, this only happened a few times.

So take a big deep breath, relax, go for it and have a great time- let us all know how you got on.

    Good Luck!!!
  • No not a website, just a forum. You can set them up for free and then there would be a whole forum to post about different aspects of NI crafts eg, dates for fairs, tips, places to get stock from, just general chat etc.

Just a thought cause I used to run a music forum and it was free.
If a lot of people were interested I don't mind setting it up but maybe it would be more appropriate for some of the people who have been posting longer to be moderators.

Hope people don't think i trying to change everything, just think it would be nice for a great resource to have its own forum.

    Welcome crazy cat candles! :)

Just read your post. Don't know what you mean? This is a free forum for all crafters in northern ireland to share dates (see previous pages) and have general chat!

Glad everyone is back sharing the love :jthis forum as been wonderful for me and has made me a lot of money over the past year :T don't know what I'd do without it!

"Heart is like crystal, preserve it. Love is like perfume, spread it. Feelings are like flood, flow it. Friendship is like umbrella, share it!"

    xx
  • In reference to HMRC, if you are looking to register with them as Self Employed it is very straight forward and takes only 5 minutes, it's just the self assessments at the end of the tax year I'm worrying about!

Glad it's all back to normal here now, would be a shame to lose this forum, I've only just discovered it and already thrive on it!

Anyone been in touch with Whitehead Community about the VictorianFair on the 27th?? I LIVE in Whitehead and have tried to contact 3 different numbers leaving messages and have had no luck finding out if there are stalls left!!
  • also....anyone know anything more about the fair in Hillsborough at the end of the month?? Or who Lynne is to contact her?

I don't think people understand what I mean, this is a thread on the Money Saving Expert forum, I was talking about an entire forum dedicated solely to NI crafts and fairs.

    It was just a thought!!:)
