Anyone know much about trojans and viruses?

I have a trojan called Vundo that keeps appearing and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it with avg.

Is this a dangerous virusy thing or will it not harm the lappy?

Download malwarebytes and install the .exe file and then run the program. Once downloaded it might be a good idea to rename the .exe file to something else, such as testbytes.exe and then proceed to install and run.

I'm in bed now, so I'll do it tomorrow while I'm waiting for the virgin media bloke to arrive to fix the phoneline.

Hopefully you should get it sorted. Don't forget about using Windows system restore either, especially if the problem with the malware is quite recent. It's very good at restoring your PC to a last known good working configuration. :)

There are times when Trojans are quite sneaky they install themselves into system restore, so when you run a virus check and it does't matter which one you use they will not find it because system restore is protected. So turn off system restore then run the virus checker and if its in there it will be able to find it. PS make sure you switch back on after the virus check.

"I am an insomniac, so I was really excited when I was able to get a full night's sleep. I said to a friend, 'Just keep your fingers crossed that I get lucky again tonight!' Realizing what I said, I tried to correct it and said, 'No, I mean, I just hope that I get some tonight!' After that, I decided to shut up."
