    Hi,

I've just been reading your posts. I'm in the same situation and I'm at the point where I d'ont want to go back to work on Monday! I've been in my job a while, but the past year my boss has been awful. I discussed her behaviour with her and her boss on several occassions but nothing changed. I'm determined to get a new job this year. I've had enough. I love what i do but it makes me feel sick going into work each day. You should keep a note, it helps to write it all down, but I would definatley get out while you can. No job is worth it! Just try to get on with your job in the meantime, but get out!

    All the best. X

That sounds bad, I'm like that when i'm due into work feeling sick etc... I've decided to find another job and then leave. No good can come out of a job that starts off this bad.

Would rather leave than take it any further. I'm quite a confident person, but this is too much. Approached my manager's boss, but nothing has changed, work colleagues won't back me up either. She's like this with everyone, it's not personal, she's just a sad person!
Been applying for new jobs so hopefully I won't be there much longer. Life is far too short!

Hi doobiesis,ERJ and all other posters

Just a reminder that for a grievence you need evidence- lots of it -as harrassment is persistant unwanted or vexatious behaviour. It also takes a while to be consideed. I put my grievence in to my employer (Euopre's largest employer IYKWIM) in November and it is still not concluded.

My advice is still to go while you can still obtain a relevant refeence from your previous employer.

That's my thought right now, get out with a good reference and without any hassle.
    Thanks for all the comments.
  • I am restarting this thread due to something that happened this morning at work. My supervisor was in a bad mood (again) so I just kept my head down and got on with my work, her friend from another dept came in, they went into an office and had a chat, she came out in a very bad mood and shouted at me and this other girl I work with for chatting and not working, which was rubbish, i had work in front of me and just happened to be drinking some tea at the time. Doesn't mean we weren't working! I got in a mood and slammed my cup down and she told me she wanted a word with me. She told me that she was fed up with my attitude and she was aggressive. The build up of the last few months made me burst into tears, I tried to tell her how the atmosphere was getting to me and she said I needed to toughen up to work in the motor trade. I told her she was rude and she denied this, I told her how I was upset about it all. She then told me that some of the directors had complained about me cos of my chatting (which again, i stress I do not do) and she was trying to protect my job.

I'm on probation for another month, however the girl who has also had enough has told me she wants to make a complaint aswell, she's just moved departments. I was hoping you guys could show me the way. I have been keeping a diary of the office, even when she has a go at someone else, I've written it down. I want to start a disciplinary against her for bullying, but I'm so apprehensive as I'm in probation, and although I'm not that worried if they give me notice, I don't want a bad reference for it. I'm so confused, still abit upset about this morning and don't know what to do...

    Please help me! :(

    Hi Dobie

are you in a Union? are they allowed at your workplace?
  • Again I've been in the same situation and I ended up being signed off by my doctor with stress, I'd stopped sleeping, eating and was falling into depression...all because of two managers who treated me like rubbish. I came home every night and cried myself to sleep.

I would advise anyone who is in the situation to get out now. Thankfully, I've put that behind me and had some great jobs since, and I'm much more myself now. Mine started very similar to what you're describing, nasty comments, not helping, ignoring me and generally being rude. It ended up with them telling me I should change how I look because men looked at me, saying I was lying about being ill when I had a doctors note, rejecting holiday requests for no reason, telling me I had to work late everyday, the list goes on!

I handed in my notice after finding a new job and actually ended sooner than I should of because of my doctor being worried about me. It came to a head when I was told I couldn't have an afternoon off to sign all the final papers for my first house. I walked into work, gave reception my sick note and got the hell out of there. I have never felt such relief ever and had such a weight lifted off my shoulders. I then wrote a letter to HR telling them what had been going on and both managers were investigated, once I did this it turned out they had been doing it to everyone and they ended up leaving the company.

People like this do not deserve having a managerial job and you shouldn't put up with it. They seem to think because they're a manager they can treat everyone how they want, and talk to everyone how they want.

Don't let it get to the point where you become ill, if you dont have a mortgage etc to pay, get out of there now.
