Just a thought, but do your bins get emptied fortnightly where you live? I used to have a very timid cat who didn't really go out other than the back garden. My ex bf let him out about 4am one day and didn't tell me. By the time I got up and realised he wasn't in the house, he had gone from the back garden.

I was so upset and thought he'd gone forever but luckily he arrived home the next rubbish collection day looking very dirty and thin so I assume he had just got himself shut in someone's bin cupboard and made his escape when they put their bins out!

Also, if there is a Gumtree site for your local area, I think you can put posts on there for lost animals as I've seen some on there before.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I also wanted to say, please leaflet all of the vets within a 20 mile radius, if someone has picked him up and thought he has no home they might take him to be checked at the vets. Some people just do not think a 'stray' cat might be microchipped. Likewise, if they had kept him over the cold snap and there are no vet's open for them to take him to.

Pop the leaflet's through the vet's doors so that they will have them for when they open tomorrow.

You could also do the same at the police stations/pubs/garages in the area too.

    Good luck.

PS. My cats have always been outside cats and would rather sleep outside than in with me. They are strange creatures and they own us rather than us owning them. Mine have a kennel they sleep in now as they would choose any old box before, and they even slept outside when it was snowing. They have a cat flap and a bed in the house - but I guess they are just odd creatures. They can certainly survive in the cold as they are very resourceful when they have to be.

Thank-you everyone - there is stll no sign :-(

Someone thought they saw him the other night way down the canal in the woods.....my neighbour has been back there several times but there is no sign . We are going there today and doing some more leafletting as well.

We tried the vacuum cleaner contents yesterday as well !

Will keep you updated - just want my little friend back x x

Hi look on the pet register to see if someone has found him. You can also register him for free although they do ask if you can give a donation.
    Good luck.!

My lovely cat has gone missing - I last saw him at Midday on Monday and he just seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. I am absolutely devastated. He has a collar with his name on and my phone number and he is mico chipped.

I have been out and put posters all around the estates neighbouring ours and leafels through loads of doors...but nothing.

I live near the canal and fields - my neighbour has walked the fields numerous times and searched every ditch and tree he can. I am now worrying he has gone in the canal ?

I have been trying to be positive and have read so any lovely stories of cats returning..but it four days now and its so cold outside tonight. It is heartbreaking not knowing where he is.

Try not to worry too much. My cat went missing the day before Chritmas Eve and came back today as though nothing had happened. Little monkey.
I think he just went to live in a quiet corner for a while to get himself feeling better because he seemed a little off just before Christmas. (he wouldn't eat a prawn or his normal dinner)
But, there he was today at dinner time and my man was very happy indeed as he thought he was gone for good. I had told him over Christmas he would be back. He is a real (what I call) proper cat and loves being out and spending time on his own.
Don't give up hope just yet :)

Didn't want to just read and say nothing. Hope he turns up soon and will keep my fingers crossed for you. We can't help but worry over our furry babies.

Yes, I've been wondering if there has been any change to the situation too.
