Another Missing cat :-(

My lovely cat has gone missing - I last saw him at Midday on Monday and he just seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. I am absolutely devastated. He has a collar with his name on and my phone number and he is mico chipped.
I have been out and put posters all around the estates neighbouring ours and leafels through loads of doors...but nothing.
I live near the canal and fields - my neighbour has walked the fields numerous times and searched every ditch and tree he can. I am now worrying he has gone in the canal ?
I have been trying to be positive and have read so any lovely stories of cats returning..but it four days now and its so cold outside tonight. It is heartbreaking not knowing where he is.

I've been through this myself and I know how hard it is. Mine turned up after about 4 or 5 days but I was distraught in the meantime.
Chances are he is in a shed or stuck somewhere.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for his safe return.0 -
Awww, I am so sorry to hear that, I hope he turns up. Don't give up hope, he could just be having a little adventure. I doubt a cat would climb into the canal by choice. Has he been away for this long before?
I hope you find him and that he turns up safe and sound for you. Keeping fingers crossed for you.0 -
Thanks - its totally out of character - he has never gone missing for more than a couple of hours before:hello: :hello: :hello: Remember - its nice to be nice !0

Fingers crossed, make sure you ask neighbours to check thoroughly. Our cat went missing and was actually next door and the neighbour said he had checked but OH had a hunch, jumped the fence and he found her in their garden under some trees. She was already poorly so different circumstances but sometimes, there is nothing like checking everywhere yourself. If he doesn't turn up soon, consider knocking on doors and asking them if they would mind if you checked their sheds/garage if they have opened them recently. He probably just got tempted away by something, I am hoping he will turn up soon. x0

Hopefully he will come home soon.
When my male was a kitten, he went missing. My cats are indoor cats, but at first we encouraged them to go out. I was sad that he may be gone forever. I looked high and low and people went looking for him the day after he had gone. I looked out of my window and my neighbours van started up - one of those really old ones with a ledge underneath. As it started, my little boy jumped from under the van and ran up the road. I went and looked to see where he went, and he was sat under a drainpipe, covered in oil, but very happy to see me.
15 years later and he's still here.
I hope a similar success story happens for you.0 -
Aw...Im so sorry to hear that. This happened to me a few weeks ago and I was distraught but my girl came home after 4 days - she was covered in motor oil so we think she was either locked in someones garage or had climbed into an engine.
I know its hard but try and stay positive, the night she came home I had emptied my hoover bag into the garden outside my flat in the hope that she would smell the scent of home. Whether it was that that worked, I don't know but anything is worth a try. Also, knock your neighbours and ask them to check sheds whilst you wait - as many may ignore leaflets through the door but if your standing there they are more inclined to do it.
Also, when its late go outside and call him. If he has been scared by something he's less likely to come out when people are around. But if it's quiet he may come out looking for food and find his way home by the sound of your voice. I also put smelly food outside every night in the hope the smell would draw her back - this is worth a try.

Thank-you again and I guess tomorrow is another day - fingers crossed. Will keep everyone updated x:hello: :hello: :hello: Remember - its nice to be nice !0 -
Glad it helped you..I hope your story has a positive ending.
One other thing, have your rung around the local vets & cat shelters as someone may have found him injured and brought him in?
Its such a horrible feeling, I know but hopefully he will come home soon xx:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Dont give up !!! and keep willing your little cat to come back home in your mind. Years ago this happened to me and I was frantic with worry when my beloved cat went missing, she was never a cat to wonder off, I couldn't sleep at night worrying where she was, and worrying about her not eating. I kept going outside and calling her name and banging the spoon on the cat food tin, and shaking her box of biscuits, hoping she would hear, and I wouldn't give up !! - Then at last ( after 2 weeks or so ) when I went outside I thought I faintly heard her mieow, I started shouting her name again, And there she was, running to me, yes looking thinner, but ok. And soon with lots of love and food given to her she was soon back to normal, ( we started her off with just warm milk to begin with ) to get her tummy use'd to food again. - And remember to send prayers out too, to bring her safe'ly home -they do work. I will send one out too. my thoughts with you. Stargaze0

Oh, sorry to hear that but lets hope he finds his way back home soon.
One of my cats went missing few years ago, got into someone's house about 15 minutes away from us (across a very busy road too) and the lady went to put a "found" poster on a corner shop window only to see mine "cat missing" already there. He was gone for well over a week.
Another time, my next door's neighbour cau went "missing" - I helped him to print/put up posters, we searched all neighbour's sheds/gardens etc etc only to discover his cat in MY cupboard under the stairs about 10 days later. He was hiding there and coming out for food....
I am sure your cat will come back, fingers crossed - big hugs for you.0
