Way I see it is this ~ your computer works fine. So obviously all connections are sound
The problem is entirely to do with the router. Assuming nothings been changed by yourself then it sounds to me like the routers got itself a little 'stuck'
As youve already shut it down and tried again and it STILL wont connect then I cant see anything else to try save RESET the router:idea:0 -

Sorry - had missed that PC and laptop are not the same machine.
If you access the router home page from the PC, there should be some way to check the wireless connections and see how they look. There should also be some way to restart the router from there. I use a Belkin wirelss router connected to a Netgear switch, so don't know what you can do with netgear's software. Sorry

found reset button, tried it still nothing, laptop not picking up the wireless connection at all, any thing else i can try please?0
