it was well known to vauxhall that zaifras are being targeted for the spare wheel. its an design error on all vauxhalls zaifras. Therefore it should have been their duty to inform customers.

Did the garage warn you it might run out of fuel??
If not, they should be picking up the fuel bills.
Did the garage warn you there is a chance of crashing if speeding on ice??
If not they should pick up the repair bills..
This could go on forever...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
OP.... Stop being so stupid.0 -
i have a counter question....where was this spare wheel kept? Did someone brake into your boot.....
anyhow you have no legal leg to stand on. Its like you buy a car and dont insure it and then you have a crash and say ....aaaa .....the person who told me is responsible...they didnt tell me i could crash....they should have!
EDIT EDIT
i just found out how to steal one!! LOL the http://www.sparewheeltheft.co.uk/ actually tells you in detail.....it is a design fault but they really are not responsible...0 -
Common fault with loads of cars where they stick the spare wheel in a cage under the car, I had a H reg Fiesta which had the spare wheel under the car and some scumbag almost stole it.I hate migraines.0

I've also heard of this being a common problem in Zafiras. Only problem I understand is that the solution is a rather complicated locking system that, if you need to get the wheel out, takes forever.
And no the dealer has no responsibility. Try getting a secondhand one off ebay. Oh wait that might even be yours that was stolen.0 -
My brother had the spare wheel stolen off the back of his Discovery.
ML.He who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket0 -
This has made me smile.........should have been warned, oh my god....

Stealing an easily accessible spare wheel, is hardly the same as stealing a roadwheel from a car, which I guess is why it is common for these spares to be nicked but very uncommon for the car to be also left balancing on four piles of bricks aswell and as you very well know we were previously discussing the theft of road wheels not sparewheels.0 -
The fact that you have reported it to the police, means you may want to re-consider whether to tell your insurer. If you hadn't reported to the police, a paper trail would not have been created of the incident. Up to you if you think the insurer will or could find out.0

You might change your mind if they later declare your insurance void for failing to declare a material fact. i.e. loss due to theft.
If in doubt, disclose and let the company decide whether or not it is a material fact.
The OP has not had an accident and has no intention of making a claim so why would you tell the insurance company?
Why would it be a material fact?0
