Yes ... if you can identify who nicked it.
Have you reported the theft to the police?
Have you informed your insurance company of the loss?

    Edit:

Didn't you have any wheel lock in place?

You might change your mind if they later declare your insurance void for failing to declare a material fact. i.e. loss due to theft.

If in doubt, disclose and let the company decide whether or not it is a material fact.

Is it a brand new Zafira, because as far as I am aware they are an optional extra (daft as it may seem), the company one we use 09 plate doesn't have one - as we found out when we got a puncture, it might not have had one in the first place!!

it was an 06 plate 2nd hand approved used car.

I expected the garage to make me aware of all problems, to offer me options etc,

it seems as if they hope the wheel is stolen so that they can make ££ by fixing and replacing it.

    What exactly is/was the problem?

    The problem is :

Someone stole the spare wheel ......... the garage didn't tell them that someone might steal the spare wheel ............... therefore the garage should pay for the replacement of the spare wheel

The garage is now (hopefully) immediately phoning the OP to inform them of the now known evidence that supports the possibility that car thieves additionally exist

^^That cannot be the "problem" - there must be something else to which the OP alludes.
