Cashback nightmare with MoreThan
Comments

So I have now been able to make a missing cashback claim with TCB and they have informed me that they will pass this information on to the retailers - More Than - in the next batch of queries in the next few weeks. And also reminded me that they are just 'go-betweens' and that it's not up to them to decide who gets cashback and who doesn't.
I understand that this is not their fault and that obviously they can't pay me what they don't have but I think they should be taking stronger action with More Than because of the amount of claims/complaints being made. I agree that having Martin on this would speed things along somewhat.0 -
I have £145 from them due. £70 from Car Insurance and £75 from Home Insurance that was bought on the 1st and 7th JULY respectively.
Both amounts have been validated, but its now nearly six months - and no sign of payment yet.
You cannot grumble - you are only supposed to go via quidco once to morethan, so maybe your multiple transactions got rumbled? Please note that if you are already a MORE TH>N policy holder or have cancelled a MORE TH>N insurance policy you may not purchase a new / second policy through Quidco. **Cashback is paid for new customers to More Th>n only**0 -
I think the end is nigh for cashbacks on a grand scale. The incentive to patronise a certain company at large cashback amounts clouds the purchase decision. It is no good for the cashback sites to say that they cannot resolve the issue and I do not think that any advert from the retailer through a cashback site has been tested in court.
Quite simply, you cannot say that you will pay out £100 cashback and then not do so.
Moving on, I think the marketing people will knock large cashbacks on the head as the failure to pay rate causes more problems than satisfied new customers. It is a grab for market share. What will happen later will be follow on reductions to retain customers.
The isue of price differentiation for new and existing customers could well end up in the courts as well.0 -
The status of my £68 cashback from more than on the Top Cash Back website has changed. It now says "More Th>n to 11 Jan 2010" and is no longer clickable.
Also, More Than no longer appear to be on TCBs merchant list. All reference to them, along with the hundreds of comments from unhappy More Than / TCB customers have been deleted.
I guess TCB and More Than have ended their relationship. Wonder where that leaves the customers waiting for cashback?0 -
Update: It's just become payable! :-)0

Hi,
No more ' Morethan ' this year for me.
I took out two Car Insurances through Topcashback in July and Aug 2009 with Morethan.
Cash back amounts : £68 and £60.
Both of them have not tracked. And I have got nowhere with my queries with them.
I had cleared all the cookies beforehand etc.
So not sure what has gone wrong.
Hope someone from topcashback will help. As it will be a year soon. And my insurance renewals will be due soon.
Thanks

I also took out 2 car insurances with Morethan Via Topcashback, it took about 5 months but they have both paid out now £68 each, I had to make a claim for one of them via the site as one tracked & one didn't at first.
So far I have not had any total failures to pay at all from this site in over a year, however you do sometimes have to make a manual claim & wait a while (hang on to the transaction details & don't wait too long in case you forget) , Play.com & Ebay are the worst for not tracking on thier own.0
