Cashback nightmare with MoreThan

Apologies first of all if there is already a thread about this!

I purchased my car insurance with Morethan via cashback website Topcashback in July. Everything was going ok, payment was confirmed at £68. It was due to be paid in september but was delayed. I kept chcking it and received messages saying that there was a backlog and that payments were on there way. It has now changed to 'payable' status but the total has dropped to ZERO!! :mad::mad:

One of the reasons given for not receiving the cashback is that a comparison site or saved quote may have been used during the purchase. This is not so in my case as I made sure I specifically went via Topcashback and produced a new quote with Morethan.

I am not alone in my nightmare, there are an awful lot of people complaining about this on the cashback website. I thought I would see if anyone here had suffered the same fate and also to let others know not to use Morethan via Topcashback. Perhaps Martin and his team could look into this and see if they can get any better results!!

  • Same here, purchased Home Insurance through More Than going through Topcashback. Mine is still showing as tracked but says it should have been payable 31/10/09 but I am still waiting! I have contacted Topcashback only to be told they are still waiting on More Than to pay out.

    Reluctant to use Topcashback and More Than again!

    Keep up the pressure on Martin to get this sorted.

    Also I have waited in for the delivery man to bring me a seed catalogue for a whole morning and he hasn't come, so Martin please get me compensated - it's been a living hell.

  • Me too. Exactly the same thing. £68 tracked, then pending, back to tracked and after enquiry with TCB, told that its unlikely to get paid. Same old story of used a comparison site blah, blah, blah, but I always clear cookies & cache etc and never had a problem before.
    If Morethan are declining for this reason its very sneaky and underhand. I can almost guarantee any of the comparison sites will also not get paid if a user clears their cookies and then follows the link through TCB, so someone is keeping the referal fee!
    I certainly won't be renewing with Morethan again. They can't be trusted to honour their cashback, can you imagine what it would be like to put in a claim on insurance?!?
    I smell a very smelly rat, and I don't think it belongs to TCB!

    Sassysez - you will get it, eventually! I insured my car with MoreThan back in April and eventually got my money at the end of November. In that time I contacted TopCashBack on a monthly basis and eventually the money came through.
  • Very similar thing has happened to me. I bought car insurance with More Than back in Feb and it has been tracked at £75 ever since. A few days ago I noticed that it has dropped to 0.00 and has a status of Declined.

    I always clear my cookies before I log onto quidco, so there's absolutely no way they can use that as an excuse. I've also had very few problems with any of the other merchants, so I suspect More Than are just pulling a fast one.

  • I too have been chasing £68 cashback amount since May 2009 - payment finally went from pending to confirmed, TCB advised I changed the status of this claim to closed which I did - only to see this payment has now been declined by TCB or Morethan and in this climate I cannot afford to just ignore an amount of £68.

    I shall now be contacting Morethans CEO for his comments and letting him know of all the bad publicity this issue/scam is causing. If I do not hear from Morethan within the next 10 working days this matter will be passed to a collegue at the Mail on Sunday so other people can be aware of what seems to be going on hear.
    After listening to their adverts on the TV & radio I find this treatment just disgusting.
