Cashback nightmare with MoreThan

I took out two car insurances at the beginning of July, both tracked within a day or so, but one did not confirm for months, I opened up a claim with Top cash back, a number of weeks later the second one then became confirmed, it is now the 23rd December & no payment yet, according to scores of people on the Top cash back site the payments are now showing.0.00 & are refusing to pay out after waiting for in some cases over a year.

This needs investigating, More Than are falsely advertising this cash back & plainly in the majority of cases not honouring their promise.
  • Surely the fault here lies with the cashback website, rather than the provider, as it is them that should be paying you?

    I don't think that's true and it's unfair.
Both quidco and topcashback pass on what they get.
If for ANY reason they don't get it, then they can't pass it on.
I agree they should investigate and not allow rogue companies, but they cannot pass on cashbakc they don't get.
I am not siding with any particualat cashback provider.
I use quidco myself, but it applies equally to both.

How do you expect them to pay cashback if the merchant hasn't paid?
If there some magic pot of gold?

Dont the cashback sites say you shouldn't rely on getting the cashback - more view it as a bonus?

I don't think that is strictly correct either.
It is true that the merchant has to pay the cashback company who in turn pays the punters but there is no way for us to tell where this chain is broken. For instance, how do we know that the merchant had not paid quidco/tcb etc? They only claim to pass on what they get and it may be true but we have to trust them on this issue.

I am also having a nightmare in terms of the length of time it's taking for More Than to pay cashback through Quidco

I have £145 from them due. £70 from Car Insurance and £75 from Home Insurance that was bought on the 1st and 7th JULY respectively.

Both amounts have been validated, but its now nearly six months - and no sign of payment yet.

I've contacted Quidco a couple of times in November and this month and each time they have said "we hope to have it by the end of the month". So come the 1st Jan, if they haven't been paid, I'm gonna go mad.

I won't be using More Than again on the strength of their cashback offer.
  • I have also had my cashback from More than refused by Quidco, their reason was that it was through a different cookie than the cashback site, but I know that I cleared my cookies before doing to transaction. The cashback was due in September.

I'm waiting on two More Than insurance cashbacks on QuidCo; one is £60 from August (shows "Validated"), and one for £75 from October (again "Validated").
If I don't get them, I'll go elsewhere next time around.
  • There are quite a few Quidco members who have been waiting for their cashback from More Than as understood from the quidclan-moan zone.
I am one among the unfortunate waiting for £80.00 cashback for a home insurance which I took out in August...

    It's not just me then.

I've been waiting since July 2009 for my £68 More Than car policy cashback from Top Cash Back!

It tracked within 24 hours, but has been sat in the "Confirmed" column for 5 months now. I've emailed TCB support, but they just tell me to "wait and see".

Not good enough really. I'd love it if Martin could give them a grilling over this. It's sharp practice at best!
