[Deleted User] wrote:My loan is still running but is nearly paid off. I have about 6 payment left to make. It quite clearly said in letter they sent with offer. That if I accepted offer as soon as they recieve the signed decaration saying that I accept offer. They would have money put in to my current account. Then If I want to use some of the money to pay off rest of loan then I will have to phone bank and arrange that my self once money has been put in my current account. You say that depending on weather the loan is still running or has been setteled with effect the payout how will this effect it., I rang them yesterday morning and explained my situation and they promised the money would be in my account this morning. but supprise supprise I have check my bank account this morning and still no money. I am going to phone them again now.
I think I said in one of my other posts that use an inter branch transfer which normally only shows at the end of the day although it can be earlier. So if they do the transfer today before 2pm it will normally show by about 6pm tonight.
Best ring them again and check how they are transferring the funds and ask when it will show in your current account.
Was just asking about whether loan was still running as this would affect how much is refunded to you. Once you have your money, might be worth asking for a brewakdown to unde3rstand how they arrived at your refund.
Good luck, hope the money isthere for you today.0 -
Hi - Natwest took 1 weekj to pay out for my PPI reclaim and three weeks for my partner and my parents. They said they normally pay within three weeks when we called them. Good luck[Deleted User] wrote:As alot of you know I have been dealling with a claim with Natwest over Miss-selling of payment protection. Basically 5 years ago I took out a loan for £15000 with natwest. When I took out the loan I was made to take out loan protection on top. They told me if I did not take out loan protection I could not have the loan. The loan protection amounted to £3675. I never really thought any thing of it and have been paying my payments regually every month. Any way back in september this year, I discovered that payment protection is optional and you don't have to take it and that also it does not cover you if you are self employed.. Which I am. So alls this time I have been paying for a loan protection policy that I did not need to take out and that is useless to me any way. I wrote to natwest at the end of september and they have finally responded after over 2 months and have made me a offer They are willing to refund me £3590.15.. I decided to accept there offer and signed the form to accept offer and sent it special delivery last monday 14th. In the letter with the offer it said that if I decide to accept there offer as soon as they recieve the signed form they will arrange for the money to me transfered in to my current account. Well I checked the tracking through royal mail and they have recived the form that I signed to accept offer on tuesday. How long now from them reciveing the form does it normally take for natwest to deposit money in to bank account. Has any one else had a successful claim and how long did you have to wait for money.
Sorry if I sound impatient. Its just is my sons birthday next monday and he really wants a psp. We told him we could not afford this. But now this money is coming in we thought if it came in time we could by him the psp he so wants as a suprise. I doubt the money will come in by then but it would be nice if it did.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi every one tried to phone again yesterday and could not get through it was continually engaged. So I sent 2 faxes one in the morning and on in the afternoon, complaining and asking some one to phone me back. But no one did phone me back and have heard nothing. I checked my account again last night and again just now and still no money. I know its earliy So I will check my account again later but I am really starting to get fed up and angry now. I am beginning to think that their offer was a lie and honestly don't believe ill ever see the money. What do you think I should do. Do you think they work on new years eve. I was going to try and ring again this morning not that they take much notice. Do you think that ill ever see the money. What should my next step be if they don't pay up. They have had the acceptance of offer declaration for about 2 1/2 weeks now. They have actually had the acceptance of offer declaration twice. As I actually signed and faxed it the day I recieved which was the 12th December which they said was ok to fax. And I also sent the declaration via special deliver on the 14th december and have proof that they recieved on 15th December. So this saturday 3 weeks will have gone by since they recieved fax and next tuesday will be 3 weeks since they recieved posted copy. As well as speaking to them on the phone I have sent several faxes complaining.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance.0 -

Hi there
I assumed they would be open today even though its New Years Eve, but maybe they end the day early, although please do not quote on me.
If you get through as if you can speak to the manager, have a word with them, they should put you through, tell them you have not got the time to sit all day waiting for return calls and you want this sorted out for ASAP.
Tell them your getting very distressed over this and will consider taking this further if you don't receive your money soon as they quoted in their letter (or from what you have been told).
Fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi every one, I phoned again yesterday and managed to get hold of some one but they wern't very helpful and insisted on taking my number and said some would ring me back before end of day. I said I did not want to hang around waiting all day for some one to phone back and insisted that I wanted to speak to the manager or the person in charge. They would not listen. I gave my telephone number but no one ever phoned me back. I have checked my bank account and still no money. My tax credits have at least been paid early so I have been able to pay a couple of bills and will be able to buy some food today. My husband gets paid next monday to so I can relax a bit. Thanks every one for your help so far. di3004 I am in the procees of writing another letter of complaint and am going to post tomorrow. On my other thread you said I should ask for destress Compensation. I am going to try asking for distress compensation but how much do you think I should ask for in distress compensation or should I leave the amount up to them.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi hun
So sorry to hear this.
So they would not pass you on to the manager then I take it?
Did they give you a reason for why they could not do this?
(Some stupid excuse they made I expect).
When it comes to distress compensation this can vary, but I would tell them you (your family have been without for Christmas) as you were relying on the money to help you out for food etc to feed your family over this festive period etc, because you were told you would get your money by now.
So insist they compensate you a reasonable amount, for example £150/£200 on top of what they owe you, tell them you were/are very distressed, this also affected you and your family in many ways, you believe under a goodwill they should compensate due to all these reasons.
Cannot guarantee they will do it but its certainly worth a go, after what they put you through over the festive season it's just not fair.
Hope this helps hun, please keep us posted, fingers crossed.;)

Does your letter not give timescales for the payment, all of ours say 28 days although we have been very fortunate in getting ours much quicker. If your letter doesn't say payment will be made within a certain period, I would ring them or fax every hour if you are able to, until they give you confirmation that the funds have been transferred. Someone on here might know the e-mail address for Stephen Hester the head of RBS, that might get things moving.
RBS are so very difficult and they just don't care. The annoying thing is that if they had just said you had to wait 14 or 28 days and not kept fobbing you off about the fact that the funds were being paid, you wouldn't have been relying on these funds. FYI they apparently they have a policy of not responding to general correspondence in the Manchester PPI office.
Hopefully this gets sorted asap for you. Good luck.0 -
no the letter has no time scale on it. as to when they will make payment.
This is exactly what the end of letter say...
"To accept my offer, all you need to do is sign and return the declaration at the end of the letter. On reciept I will arrange for the money to be applied to you current account."
To me this implies that as soon as they recieve declaration they will put money in my account and they haven't. If it had said in the letter that it would be 4 weeks or more before they could make payment. I would have made other arrangements. But they never stated any time frame. This is what anoys me. I phoned again yesterday and I spoke to the same person I spoke to the day before. I asked them to pass me on to the manager but they refused they said the manager was not in and would not be in again until next monday. All they would do is take my number and said that they would get some one to phone me on monday. I doubt in any one will phone on monday. Ill let you know. If not ill defernatly be phoning them. Any way have checked my back account yesterday and this morning and still no money.0 -

Hi Teddybear154,;)
To save me going back on the posts, is this account settled or still active?
If the loan account is still active, did they mean they are paying to the loan account I wonder?
If not I would take it cos Natwest is your bank, they would refund this into your bank account. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi the loan is still active but is nearly at the end. I have about 8 payments left to pay. It stated in letter that they would pay money in to my current account not loan account. The letter then goes on to say that If I want to use the money to pay off the last of my loan then I will have to contact the bank after the money has been paid in to my current account and arrange this my self. Through my online banking I can view my loan account as well as my current account and I have checked every day including today And so know for sure the money has not been paid in to my loan account. Hope this all makes sence.0
