Bit of sexy experimental technology here, alongside the normal free 'muttering' (my audio commentary on this e-mail), this week its in video too!
You can watch this video podcast on your computer via downloading it on ITunes (if you've got it, otherwise download the free software first) or download it to your iPod the normal way (it'll play audio only if you don't have a video iPod) or on your PSP (again done the normal way).
Of course, it's all free
Why this trial?
I got a knock on the door at MoneySaving Towers, from Bela a producer at tiptoptv who rather conveniently are based on the other side of the corridor. He's a site user and suggested it'd be fun to try. So this is the experiment... I'd love to know what you think.
Feedback
Having watched it back myself, I realise its too long for this format and should be about 4 minutes shorter - it may be possible later to have it a straight streaming video, but at the moment doing it via Itunes means they are serving the file, which is a big aid to the site.
Yet in general terms I'd like to know... does having it in video help, would you watch it if it were regular, and any other (not too harsh pls) thoughts

Just downloaded and synced with my Ipod without a problem
Played on my Ipod without any problems at all.
Would be a great addition to the site

Any chance of a standard Mov or Avi version?0

As noted - this is a trial and therefore I prefer Itunes to host it so it doesn't hurt the performance of the whole site. If it becomes regular I'll look at other formats :0Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

It's a very good idea as all your mutterings will arrive automatically as soon as you post them. Could you do an RSS link thingy as well?
Cheers

If you want a version everyone can view without using the site's bandwidth, why not upload it to Youtube or Google Video?0

You wouldn't want to download a 69MB file just to listen to audio anyway
Sites that give video podcasts almost always have a seperate feed with audio only0 -

I'll also wait for a non-Apple version.0 -
I liked the video - I'd definitely watch it each week if its a subscription through itunes and gets delivered without me even having to do anything, lol.
Credit-card-tart, can you not get this to play on a pc? It shouldn't be any problem, I've had itunes on my pc for a while and never had any problems with podcasts. Sorry if I'm being dense and not understanding your problemDon't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now...
