Beware Replica Phones!

Well I hope that everyone will now agree that the seller is a grade one scumbag con-artist.

How anyone can condone a listing headed "Brand New Sony Ericsson W800i" being for anything other than a Brand New Sony Ericsson W800i is beyond me.

It's true that the word "Replica" hasn't been hidden as craftily as some similar listings I've seen, but there is no doubt whatsoever that this seller set out to deceive some innocent soul and con them out of their money.

The fact that fleabay allow this sort of seller to operate only reinforces my opinion that they themselves are a bunch of venal scumbags with less morals than Del Trotter on a bad day.

Upon reading the listing I have to agree, the seller is a complete scumbag!
The auction is misleading and describes a phone which is clearly not the one for sale. If I were the OP I would be doing a chargeback as we speak!

with regards to the positive feedback left you could say it was done in error. you only have feedback score of 6 so quite believable

Having seen the auction then yes I would have made a paypal complaint and argue that I was misled. The very fact that the title of the auction was so clear would almost certainly mean the buyer would win a claim.

However, I wouldn't be spending £100 on an auction where the seller has a stock photo and poor feedback without doing a bit of research first, so I still think that buyers need to look after themselves a bit more. This is not a nanny state, if you wouldn't buy an unseen phone from an unknown bloke in the pub without asking some questions why do we do it on ebay?
