Had to share the best scam email I ever received.

    Still makes me smile :rotfl:

    Good day

We saw your email ( in the Central Computer among the list of unpaid LOTTERY DRAW that was originated from Africa, Europe, Asia Plus Middle east, Americans ) among the list of individuals and companies that your unpaid fund has been located to the COMMONWEALTH BANK,UNITED KINGDOM. Your email appeared among the WINNERS OF THE LOTTERY SPLASH sum and has been approved already for months. You are requested to get back to us for more direction and instruction on how to receive your fund.

However, we received an email from SOMEONE who told us that he is your next of kin and that you died in a car accident last t week. He has also submitted his account for us to transfer the fund to him including his International passport; we want to hear from you before we can make the transfer to confirm if you are dead or not.

Once again, We apologize to you on behalf Of IMF (International Monetary Fund) for failure to pay your funds in time, which according to records in the system had been long overdue.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Allstate Vault Deposit Logistic Inc

The only convincing part of thje post was "Western Money Union Transfer", anything or (pretty much EVERYTHING after that I did not find even nearly convincing - Nigeria is a little bit of a clue, but then the rest of the email is pretty obvious ;)

I don't understand how it is so blatant to you, can you explain please?

Please tell me you are joking? Anything that includes the following phrases should send alarm bells ringing:

    Western Union
    Africa
    Lottery Winner

They seem pretty constant through the emails like this one and pretty much every other I've seen and are notorious for scams. Indeed, western Union has to be one of the most commonly used companies to scam people in the world!

How dare you accuse this honest hard working man with many wives and children to feed of operating a rip off, I have it on high authority in an email from Prince E Ebogo from Nigeria that he is a man of the highest integrity and highly regarded as a most trustworthy businessman in the city of Lagos.:D

I'm afraid that if the discrepancy between the two figures is the only thing that stopped you from being taken in then your a blazin' !!!!!!. I could tell from the SUBJECT LINE that this was a scam. The line "FROM OFFICE OF THE WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER." may as well read as a flashing neon scam alert. :)

And yes, I know you're joking about nearly being taken in... I hope! But there are thick people out there who do fall for these scams, somehow, and the above applies to them!

As obvious as it is that the email is a scam. It's also damn obvious the OP was joking.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

The word Nigeria, Email & convincing, never ever go together. I had been getting these at hotmail since i was 8 and i could tell they were a scam. :D
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

You should have replied advising you were in fact dead and enclosing a signed affidavit to that effect. Maybe even a photograph of you signing it too.

All posters, it might be an idea to edit the links on this thread. I don't know where they lead but could be iffy. I don't trust any of the scalliwags.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
