Anyway about 2pm someone is leaving and we notice a DHL 'sorry we missed you card'. How on earth did we miss him? I have a sneaky suspicion he had written the card before even checking, knocked lightly then sneaked away. There was no way he tried to get an answer.

Anyway thats not the main thing. How do i get them to redeliver? It only mentions collecting from their centre but i havent got a car and its quite a distance since i have to travel further away from the area to get an adjoining bus journey.

    ps. should i complain?

Was it a noisy thing the 4 people were doing Patrick, no gain in the courier calling and taking the parcel back.

Totally agree Beaker1, I am one

Henza if by and/ "it's not his route" you mean out of his area then he wouldn't have the item to deliver. If you mean /or "it's not his route" because he's temporarily covering someone elses route, I think temps try much harder to deliver, either because they're paid per parcel that they deliver(then returned to normal courier to redeliver and they have payment) or they're not as experienced as full time couriers(by that I mean doing what you are contracted to do).

I've chosen to collect any parcels I can in the run up to Christmas(even though I could have free delivery). I've taken a lot of parcels from my very nice postman for neighbours who ordered and are out, at work(his bag is overloaded). In the weeks before Christmas, when I ordered for home delivery, I checked my bell was working and someone would be home, I redirected to a "definite would be at home" if I couldn't sign and receive. I've upgraded any Ebay buyers to SD(at extra cost to myself) because of the weather and the obvious overload to couriers.
Have to say I do get a little annoyed when not a whiff of a thank you for the SD at my cost but perhaps I'm getting old, grumpy and perdantic.

Can all work with some consideration for others.
    Happy Christmas to everyone
