I have tried PeachPickle but I feel since its only a part time position I'm hardly in a position to negotiate hours and my full time also means working the occasional Saturday too making it tricky to be picky over hours at the weekend job.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 0650

Looking at your high debt, I think I would be inclined to continue the employment and get the debts pai off to give myself inner peace. Like someones already said, noone has to attend church to be close to God.
But that is my opinion and with all things you have to make the decision that is right for youOne day I might be more organised...........

Not being flippant (as a non-church attending christian) but suggest that you pray on this. Some of course will not understand this philosphy but it works for me and the answer always comes - not always as I would anticpiate but a clear direction none the less! Its also a very personal decision and one that only you can make...you can have a relationship without going to church but in my own experience I slip more easily when I dont go (on my lst of to do's!)...hope you resolve this. Um, not sure if I can join in, being a pagan - please don't burn me, that sort of thing can put a crimp in your day, and I'm not really dressed for it. Just wanted to say that whatever or Whoever we hitch our particular spiritual wagons to, then I'm sure our intentions are pretty clear to it/Him/Her. They/It knows when you're trying to make an effort.
I'm thinking of taking a day of work Wednesday, as it's Summer Solstice (pretty important to pagans) and being up for sunrise means that work is going to be a bit of a nightmare. Even though I cant really afford to lose a days takings, it's important to me to enjoy this time, even if I have to be in a debt a few days longer. I think it's the same for you - you enjoy the company, the being with like minded people etc, and if to you it's worth more than an extra month or so on your debt then it's worth it.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I don't think God will mind you missing church if you're working, especially to pay off debts. It says in the Bible (please don't ask me where - I can't remember lol) that you should pay off your debts. Obviously it's worded better than that

Having said that, if sunday services help you build stronger relationships with God and other people, then that's what's right for you.
God will also understand if you give up the part-time job for that reason.
We're all different, I actually don't like sunday services - I start fidgeting after about 20 minutes and it feels far too crowded for me, I prefer groups of up to around 15 people.Bulletproof0 -
Are group is pretty small Troo about 30 people and we all know each other pretty well, to be honest I was taken back by how they welcomed me and have continued to support me.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 0650

If you really want to leave the job to make more time for God, then I think that's what you should do, cheerfully telling your atheist friends why - real friends won't think any less of you. I'm a non-Christian, but two of my four children are Christians and I see them all in exactly the same way.
However, if you really want to stick at the job to clear your debts, then I imagine God would be just as happy to see you make the most of an opportunity he's given you as he would if you set aside a few more hours a week for him.
All the best, whatever you decide
