Well done love, lets hope we can all keep you motivated. Seems like you're doing a bang up job. You've already paid off 2 grand a year!!
I agree, Tuesdays are rubbish. Far enough from last weekend to make you forget the drinking too much and falling over and thus reckon you had a brilliant time, and too far from next weekend to make it seem a possibility. It's an urgh day and we should all get the day off. I should also be made Queen of the Universe cos I'd run it so much better. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Peaches,
I'm a little confused, is the £300 a month to debts for credit cards etc ones that you're not paying interest on?
Or just not paying interest to the friends/family?
I couldn't really see anywhere to save you money in terms of what you pay out since none of it really seems unreasonable?
Could you not use money in savings to pay off a debt or two?
Yup, the £300 is to the ccs etc and they all froze interest after a little begging (they're all with dca's)
Also not paying interest to parents and my ex won't take more than £25 a month
I do keep going round and round about my savings, but I don't really have a lot anyway and I have to go on courses fairly often for work which I pay out for travel/accom and then claim back, so I really need to have some spare money hanging round if I can.
My aim really is to stop buying random cr*p with the money I have left after paying debts etc. I'm currently making a huge effort to stop buying magazines - I used to buy 2 monthlies and 2 weeklies, but I've cut right back to just one monthly ( I can't not buy Q!). This is the first month I've properly been trying, and I've still got money in my bank account with a week til payday (which is a first for a long time- rubbish!).
I've got a spending diary now, which really helps me think about what I'm buying.
Oh, and I'm glad you didn't think I was shushing you :rotfl:DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

What about if you don't take your wallet/cards etc with you when you go on a normal day to the office/work, apart from the bus fare and lunch, and maybe token £1 just in case.
That way you dont buy thru boredom.
Have you signed up to get your monthly mag delivered? Sometimes paying by DD means you get a discount and generally a free gift too?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

I might try taking no money actually, there's no reason why I shouldn't. Thanks!
I have thought about subscribing, and you get a free cd when you do. Trouble is, the past 2 months the cd has been rubbish so I'm waiting til they offer something good! It was madonna this month. :rolleyes:DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

Or be really cheap and read it at the local library, or online. There's a site somewhere that sends you 3 issues of magazines ofr a quid. Might be worth checking out? This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I read the websites of the ones I don't buy anymore. I realised that I was spending more than £20 per month on magazines alone
I think I will hunt around and see if there are any alternative subs deals, thanksDFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

Had an ace day today. Went with the 'positive mental attitude' to cr*ppy tuesdays and it worked. Well, slightly. Still got annoyed at all the mess I had to clear up at work, but only for a few minutes
Good Things: my phone arrived today, yay! It's lovely, so shiny. Can't work out how to store texts to the phone not the sim tho, so it'll only save 10, which is useless. Pah!
And, I'm no longer bottom of our fantasy world cup league, wooh!
Put in my expenses claim finally, so I should get £55 back this friday :T
Plus, only spent £8.50 today, that was on my bus pass for the week.DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls
