If a car park is illegal can I get away with not paying for parking. I currently use a private car park and have just recetly found out that the car park does not have the necessary planning permission, the car park itself is in a building site which has been turned into a car park.
Bank charges Reclaim:

If it is a car park "monitored" by a private parking firm, then they have no legal right to charge you for anything. We all evolve - get on with it0

However the chances of you driving in, saying
"On your bike my good man, you are a liar and a charlatan and I refuse to pay your illegal charges"
and returning to find your car drive able are slim at bestIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -

So what you're saying is, can I park my car on somebody else's land, and not pay for the privilege?
I don't mind telling people not to pay private car park penalty charges, but you're taking the !!!!.0 -

I have been paying my fare for the last three months (daily rate of £5) however the other day I returned to find a Enforcement Notice of London Borough stating that the car park is in breach of planning permission and they are taking necessary action, I've phoned up the council and they confirmed that it was still the case. The reason why I use it is that that is the only Car park that is next to my work and all the roads round that area have all permits. The ticket machine does not even give you a receipt. They use ANPR to log the time you drive in and out. I just want to know my rights. Some days the ticket machine is out of order somedays it's not. So for example if i had a accident on the site say I triped over something would it be difficult claiming againts them?Bank charges Reclaim:

You have no right to park your car in a place that doesn't have the appropriate planning permission, hence the "Enforcement Notice of London Borough"."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
