Shopping List, fish fingers but your meal planner says HM????
Tuesday meal, don't you have anything else with the mince/veg? ie. spuds?
and wouldn't it be cheaper buying Tesco value ice cream?
Sorry, I forgot the fish finger recipe. I'll do that next.

I dont put spuds in with the mince and dumplings but I suppose you could. I make huge dumplings so we find we dont need potatos too.

Yes Tesco Value ice cream would be cheaper but it's nowhere near as nice.

    Fish Fingers

Heat oven to gas mark 6. Mix up plain flour, pinch of salt, pinch of pepper and a few herbs on a plate. Cut cod pieces into fish finger shapes and then coat them in the flour mixture. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes.

Black saturn - i really enjoy your menu plans - just wish you were vegetarian

I do the potato bake and put a tbsp of flour between each layer so it thickens well

So prehaps I can challenge you to do a plan for veggies ( eat dairy & eggs) which includes enough for 2 teens - please pretty please :D

I think most of those recipes included some sort of veg (carrot, onion, spuds, peas etc) Naturally as the meal planner is a suggestion you can adapt it to suit you and your families likes and dislikes. I think BS said it was a selection of evening meals only so this doesnt represent other meals such as lunch and breakfast.

This came up last time B-S posted a meal plan as well. I think she said fresh fruit and veg really upset her, and her kids, digestion.
Which is of course fine, but I think it is something to bear in mind with how much she spends a month on food. Even if we ate this sort of food, our budget would be alot bigger since we have at least 2 pieces of fresh fruit each a day, as well as 2/3 portions of fresh veg.

I agree Tesco Value Ice Cream probably isn't as nice as BS HM but it probably works out cheaper and  has much less calories

If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it

Heth, I've posted a menu planner on here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=212256

Which does include loads of fruit and veg and still only comes in at less than £160 per month.

Black Saturn has posted these meals as SUGGESTIONS to what you can do. It may suit her and her family, but not everyone.

I can't believe that some members are moaning (wheres this? wheres that?) - the good thing with suggestions is that they are completely changeable to suit your own needs. So try just that!
