You can either use the corner of a flannel, or a toothbrush, but be careful - it's far too easy to overdo it _pale_

I am also a fan of Carmex
I love carmex - I've always got a few tubs in my bag, my pocket, beside my bed and spares in the cupboard :o

Vaseline isn't a great product to use because it's a barrier cream - I mean, okay it doesn't let moisture out, but it doesn't put any back in either! You're best to get a proper lip balm :)

p.s. if you're feeling very flush/in need of a treat benefit do a 'lipscription' kit - it's got an exfoliator and an amazing lipbalm. It ties with carmex as my fave lip stuff :D

Another vote for Carmex here too, I also love Burts Bees but its ridiculously expensive over here (I stock up when I'm in the US).

I keep pots everywhere - in my drawer at work, in several handbags, bedside table, etc..

Never heard of Carmex, but it looks like Boots sell it (I have some points to use), so I'll get some tomorrow. Thank you.

Just done that - and it really worked. Why didn't I think of that before?
  • Carmex is brilliant as it has a little of everything, so while vit e is great, carmex is full of vit e, menthol, antiseptics, butters etc to keep them moisturised. It's amazing how quickly they get back to soft. nice lips when I use it every day.

If you don't want to use it every day just apply it thickly at night and after exfoliating as they can be quite sensitive.

I have to say I find the toothbrush deal a little too harsh- sorry to be contriversial! I end up with either blood on my lips or no effect at all! Biting my lips seems to be the main culpret so stopping myself from doing this makes a difference. If I use a lip balm I'm less likely to bite my lips. If its a coloured lip balm, even less again (too worried about my teeth getting odd coloured streaks on them and the gloss smearing around my lips!)

Benefit did a good lip exfoliator if you can afford it (got mine from ebay many eyars ago) but I did find a natural lip balm stick in Savers, its white and I think by Chapstick. Its

Its called "All natural" and is in a white tube. Good stuff! Not an exfoliant but a good protector from the elements and made with natural stuff rather then petroleum.

I use olive oil mixed with some granualted sugar, cheap and cheerful and lips and face feel really smooth and moisturised afterwards.

    ;)

The trick isn't to brush your lips as if you're brushing your teeth, it's just to remove the top layer of dead skin so quite firm but light enough for it not to hurt, I do mine by scrubbing vertically then horizontally. If your lips are severly chapped (eg when you smile they crack and bleed) you may need to moisturise by applying a medicated lip balm for a week or so before trying to exfolite in any manner.
