ASDA Warning for ONLINE Shopping

Same has just happened to me as the OP.
They earmarked the amount at the time of ordering and because one item was not in stock, the total amount was different, so they took the new amount from my account.
So £68 was earmarked from my account and they have processed the actual total which was £67. The £67 has left my account and the £68 is in limbo till I get it back.
BUT, I've used them before and all has been OK, even when the amounts have differed, yet this time I said I would have substitutions on certain items (which was soup as I wasn't bothered which flavours I got) when usually I say no subs.
I bank with the Co-op and have not long spoken to them, where I was told they know whats going on and have suggested to Asda that they earmark the amount and if the end total price differs, to either refund the amount or process for the extra amount, but Asda won't have none of that.
As a result of this p!sh poor way of billing, I won't be using Asda online shopping ever again!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

SAME HERE!!!...it's still going on.
I bank with co-op too, and also was told it is standar practice. I did accept substitutions, so that seems to make no difference.
As I was unaware of this until today and it happened to me then I googled this issue and found this thread.
Co-op bank have agreed to re-instate the 'on hold' funds Asda have ear-marked of my balance (my card was refused on a different transaction- causing embarassment- for insufficient funds due to this c**k up by Asda). Co-op said that they are taking the issue up with Asda, but who knows how long it will take to fix.
I too am keeping well away from Asda home delivery now.0
