People repeatedly casting multiple votes, even one setting up an automated process? I challenge anyone to explain how that can still be a truly fair vote.
Maybe this just shows their strength of feeling.
I think that everyone agrees that the final result will not show the feelings of a representitive sample from the whole population. But rather than concentrate on what it doesn't show, why not consider what it does show.

Out of interest, suited-aces, why does this bother you so much?

The story that contributed so much pain and misery to grieving families was aimed at LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS not all scousers, or football fans, nor those of working class or labour supporters, or even other sports fans such as rugby or cricket all of whom I know still, even though not personally affected, dont buy the paper due to its reprehendable sensationalism and lies during such a tragic event.

not to add not only was it sensationalist lies that company are responsable for still beleiving it was the fans fault.

to this day 20 years later they are yet to appoligise for telling lies .

wouldn't it be great next year if on the anniversery they put the headline on as the truth is we lied. we told that staory with no evedidence to back it up and continued to spout lies.

before anyone says i am not from liverpool nor a liverpool fan its just it could have happened to any set of fans that day , infact it could have been mine as we were playing in the other semi.

i applaud the fans for continuing the support and hopefully they can arrange more truth dayss as they have done in the past

Honestly? There's only so many times you can hear the sick sick chants about the munich air disaster before you grow weary at the hypocrisy shown.
I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!

yes but that may be a small elemant of fans doing that.

as my posts may have revealed im an everton fan and i feel very strongly about hillsbourgh and the relevant cases including kevin williams case.

now in recent years there has been an elemant of are so called fans who like to make hidious chants and even genstures about this.

thankfully some of us are dealing with this inhouse even one of my friends 'took care ' of a fellow blue about ten years ago when we played the reds on good friday .

now i dont addvocate violance but for for some people well they may deserve it

  • I had a colleague called Mike, who was a Liverpudlian. . We both had a handicapped kid.
Mine was born that way. Mike's daughter was put into a wheelchair for life, by a careless lorry driver forcing Mike into a stone wall.

We had several discussions about how to get "justice" as against "law", it is a very lonely life when something like that happens. Public pressure is a great help (Think "Thalidomide" and Harold Evans at the Sunday Times).

It was The Sun that took up Mike's case, not only did it make Mike's crippled daughter feel special, I'm sure the headlines helped Mike achieve the settlement he eventually did.

We can all speculate on the motivations of the editor of The Sun, but I judge by the outcome.

I wondered if that was the case.
And I agree it's sick. Had numerous arguments about it with a Leeds fan I lived with while at university.

I thought Hillsborough was seen as more a football thing (or football fan thing) rather than particularly a Liverpool thing (or Liverpool fan thing). Whereas Munich is seen more as a Man Utd thing, if you see what I mean? Doesn't make it right for one and wrong for the other, but that's just what I've seen as the typical reaction.

But two wrongs don't make a right.
And I would be surprised if the most ardent campaigners for justice were the same ones singing the songs about Munich.

[Incidentally, I'm a Barnet fan and have no affiliation to any of the clubs involved.]
  • I chose British Gas (although I'm not a huge fan of the sun!). Bit of a long story but bear with me... In my second year of university I lived in a shared student house. The first bill we received seemed ok until we realised it was for one month, not a quarter! We realised that we were on a business tariff rather than domestic. We rang up, but the lady I spoke to tried to fob me off saying that actually we were better off on a business tariff because although we were being charged a daily rate (even if nothing was used ie over christmas when we were home) our unit charge was cheaper. This was a complete lie, it did not work out cheaper overall but about 3 times as expensive. To cut a long story short after months and months of ringing up and getting nowhere, them promising to send a new bill and it being no cheaper and not transferring us to the domestic side, I got legal advice, worked out how much I thought we owed based on my parents' bills and wrote a cheque with a complaint. The cheque was cashed and there was no correspondance. There was then a further bill stating we still owed money. At that point I forwarded the original letter with a new letter of complaint to the CEO. Finally, they rang up and apologised and said they 'didn't know how it had happened'. By the way, they wanted us to pay around £1,200 for just 9 months. We paid £480 in the end.

I just worry about how many people would not have fought this and would have gone ahead and paid the bill even if it meant that they couldn't afford to put their heating on or eat because they would have believed the bill was correct. I'm pretty sure they thought they could fob us off because we were students and probably thought we were naive.
For the stress I was put through and sheer lack of customer service and real advice and help, I will NEVER use british gas again. Don't be afraid to keep fighting them on it if you don't think it's right.
  • Poll seems to have been hijacked by bitter scousers on the red and white kop forum. (I cannae post links yet) Must question the integrity of the result now surely?

what a complete ill-informed moron you are - why is showing a disregard for a 'newspaper' that published lies and made up stories in order to boost their sales figures a sign of being bitter? you expect a newspaper to inform people using facts and accounts of what actually happened, but this is a concept the s@n seems to struggle with.

i'd be interested to see you justify your comments, but after reflecting on your considerably naive post i'd expect you would be too embarrassed to do so

Obviously someone who registered just to place multiple votes for The Sun

Don't you think it's a bit pathetic registering just to place a vote against The Sun in a poll that doesn't actually MEAN anything?

Yes, you may disagree with The Sun and what they printed, but honestly, haven't you got better things to do?!!
