My dad is getting married at the Hempstead House Hotel in April and he and his missus are VERY particular. They wouldn't have it unless it was perfect. I'll let you know how it goes after that!0

thanks for all the help so far and will be great to know how your dads wedding goes. i think ever though we can afford hop farm now we have done some searching online and with the menu supplied it is just not for us (i liked the shire horses only!). i contacted the beach house at whitstable but the costs are just too much for us and as partner said before it is tiny so not appropriate for guests who do not get on as i want them to be able to ignore each other. so we are still hunting but i am not so upset0

How about Howfield Manor, seems very flexible

thank you we had looked at this one as it sounds nice and i have contacted them with our needs but not heard anything let. only thing is it says you have to book all the rooms for guests and we dont need any rooms as we want to leave on honeymoon and leave guests free to travel home or stay elsewhere away from one another. plus if we are not in our house some of the family can stay here (i will need them to pet and child sit!).0 -

Just a thought, but how about Bewl Water? It can be hired for functions and I went to a wedding fair there and its a lovely venue. The view out onto the lake is amazing!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
thanks we knew that they did weddings but we have not been there as last time we went to go for a walk it was going to be £7 to park!! i thought it might be a bit tacky and partner doesnt want to use it as we have had some horrendous water bills from aforementioned water company - we still dont know how they are getting the readings even. so he does not want to give any more cash to a company that has been rubbish. i think i need them to quickly sort out the bills so he might reconsider0

i hope you get it all sorted out in your head as I am sure you can get some wonderful photos. How about asking the photographer for some advice if he or she has taken photos there before?
As for us couldn't sleep last night and went to look at my favourite view back home (I get homesick really badly) and realised that a lovely gardens in the same village now holds ceremonies! I was sooo excited I woke partner up at 5am  There are lots of outside buildings that are registered for the ceremony and a little tea room. so for the ceremony and then exclusive use of the gardens and tearooms from 6-9.30 is £1100. We can have 40 guests for that and a late afternoon ceremony so only a few hours which is also everything I have been looking for. So we are now just getting quotes for food and then we hopefully will book it! :T:T And wedding coordinator has replied already and been really helpful so I am just waiting now for 6 quotes for food! All done in the space of 9 hours!! It means my favourite section of beach is a couple of minutes walk about for photos and then photos up on the hill of my favourite view ever. We have over 200 photos stored that I took last time we were thereso already thinking of ways of incorporating the best ones into my invites!
After 2 years of searching I think I am finally getting somewhere! I told partner I feel like I must have had to have such a long wait for them to get organised for weddings! I am very very very excited like its my birthdayOnly drag will mean we have to book something for us to stay at and get us and ALL the things we need 200 miles but I am still excited! IF we finally get something booked Ill post a link!

Aww no, hope you're not still worryingLike you say the venue isn't that big so i'm hoping for nice weather so we can make full use of the outside bit but it will be a bit squashed if we're all inside. I know yours is december though so it will be cold even if it's not raining. I wish the inside bit was bigger, we want a band and a dj but due to space we can only have a band. Do you know what the maximum capacity is? I had a feeling i saw somewhere it was 120 but i can only see it saying they can comfortably sit 80. 120 sounds a lot but when you start to include work people and their partners it soon adds up  PM me if you need to talk about anything x

aww thanks honey for the offer have paid the 590 deposit so i cant do anything about it now anyway just going to do things smaller having 7 tables and the head table and am going to do the goldfish bowls with mirrors as centre pieces so will make the room look bigger with tidy plainer tables x0

Are you having the round tables? We're having the top table and about 6 or 7 round tables which will be fine, just will be more squashed in the evening. The photos make the room look huge, lol0
