The service that allows you to make and receive calls, does not use the computer, you make the free calls from a standard handset that you plug in to your broadband hub/router

The number of calls I make is below £5 and I would have to buy the hub as I am not a new customer...........not exactly cuting costs and I am sure there will be restrictions on where the free calls can be made too.

So the "claim" of costs reductions where ever they originated are somewhat misleading as in leads one to believe that the broadband connection is going to be cheaper rather than all the xtras that are of no real benefit.

I have just emailed them asking if I would actually benefit in anyway from their new packages as it is not clear that I would as an existing customer..........so we will wait and see what they have to say

More "added value" I don't need.

I have always had a good service from BT Broadband, and up to now I've taken the 'better the devil you know' attitude, but that £26.99 a month is really starting to hurt. Guess its time to bite the bullet.

I couldn't have said it better, spot on

    Bye Bye BT

Right just got off the phone to bt, had to call them in the end. least it was free, you really need to know how much of the download gb you use in order to work out best package for you, also you have to order it on line to ensure you get appropiate free stuff such as hub on option 2 and hub and phone on option 3 as there is only certain phones that are compatable otherwise if you go with option one you have to buy hub at £50 and phone at £40.

Not sure how to check how much I use so can anyone tell me how to check?

p.s. they do not transfer you over to new packages nearest to your existing one automatically so you could end up paying more that you need too depending on usage.

was just looking at this on the BT website

at 26.99 per month this doesnt seem too bad provided it includes the standard charge, or is that on top of this as well?
