  • Beware - Graffic Post Below

I think this was far from toilet~foul,

When i was walking up from Newcastle railway station to the Great North Run start line, i visited the toilet in McDonalds for a pre-race no2. Last stop before chemical toilet land.

What i was faced with was someone's no2 wiped all over the walls and the door. Pretty much that i had to sit and close my eye's otherwise the thought of being sick would enter my mind.

So a little stale smell of wee, or some toilet paper on the floor is far far far lower that what i had to endure, and that memory will pretty much remain in my head for years to come.

    So count yourself lucky.

Surely waiting and using a clean chemical toilet would have been preferable.

I think there was 53,000 people at the Great North Run start line, so alot of people waiting for the toilet. Infact, it went down the road and round the corner.

Maybe if i had not consumed 6-7 pints of stella the night before, i could of had a choice. :rotfl:
  • I would definately complain. When I worked at starbucks and was on clean-up I made sure I cleaned the toilet every half hour in busy periods as it was a shared m/f/baby change room. Sure a few people had to wait a couple of minutes while I cleaned but we never had any complaints, and in fact a few women even tipped me for the fact the loos were 'spray' free.

There's no need for filthy loos, if they're regularly cleaned it takes a matter of minutes.

Thanks for the sweeping generalisation you made from a single post.

I'll now do the same for you, if you don't mind.

    Well, I'm waiting...

I never go to Cafe Nero now, though I quite like their coffee. Every single store I have been to is full of dirty tables, and no one seems to bother clearing them (and, no, it's not because the staff are rushed on their feet, in fact they usually seem to be chatting). Why they think that customers are happy to sit at dirty tables, or clear them themselves, after having paid an extortionate price for a cup of coffee is beyond me.

Do what I do. Flamboyantly sweep the whole lot onto the floor with your arm and then sit at the table as though nothing's happened and drink your coffee.

OK, I only do it inside my head, but I'd love to see someone do this for real....:o

oooooooohhhhh nattyvee - share it with the rest of us though please?
  • What is it with some MSE-ers these days? I'm sure the festive period is turning people into complete asses!!

The OP was stating a point about a visit to some hideous toilets, not inviting everyone and their dog to compete in a rude manner for 'who has the worst toilet experience'

i dont understand why people visit overpriced coffee houses anyway. we are not american.

some people really are rankand im sure they would do it in their own homes.

our local mothercare had a nursing room that included a toilet and changing area. the toilet has been locked now fior a couple of years because dirty articles treated it appallingly and blocked the toilet and or left it in a disgusting state. thus spoiling it for others.

thankfully my OH now works in sutton managing a shop so if we need the loo we can got use his, and call him to make me a cuppa when i feel like one if im out shopping!

eta - when i was heavily pregnant with my youngest i was violently sick upon entering the toilet in BHS, the nearest thing to throw up in was the sink, would never have made it to the toilet, which i tried to clean up after me but blocked with my lunch.

did i leave it? no. i have manners. i got my mum to stand guard and not let anyone in whilst i went and informed someone who arranged for it to be closed and cleaned. i was mortified but i did right.

whole reason of my vomit? the dirty article that had been in there before me, the stench was that bad i immediately chucked with no warning.
There's someone in my head, but it's not me
