I really don't want to go into more detail about what I found but I guess I need to now.
I had to lift up the lid, as it was closed, and the offending substance was all smeared all over the seat.
If you don't find that traumatising, then I envy your strong stomach.
I would certainly not find it a pleasant experience, and I'm sure there wasn't a suggestion that you have no complaint.
I think the problem was (and often is) that the language you used to describe your discomfort verged on hyperbole. I know this is a "vent" thread but I do often find that I would be able to better understand, sympathise with and therefore help the people who post here if they take a deep breath before posting.0 -
I had this problem with a toilet at Manchester arena, I had queued for ages and people were going to the loo in turn as one came out one went in, and I got the toilet from hell! that I had to use because I couldn't queue again. Then I was embarrased when I came out incase the next person thought it was me. I'm not calling MEN arena because it has only happened to me once, it's the people who think it is acceptable to leave a toilet in that state.

On my way out I went to the toilet. There was one toilet for the ladies and one for the chaps with a single, lockable door separating it from the main area of the restaurant (which I thought was illegal, I thought there had to be 2 doors with 'dead space' between).
love cafe nero, hate their toilets, one door with no dead space inbetween is exactly the same as they have here at my local one, not been for about 6 months though, they have moved since then and not been to the new one
ironic they sell caffeine and the bogs are crap :rotfl:things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

you must have a slightly stronger stomach than me s i would have been sick on the spot. i have a very weak stomach ith things like that including other peoples kids bums, even my own 2 years olds nappys at time.
this is not a wind up.There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
The Cafe Nero near me often has similarly smelly and messy toilets.
That said, I have used some truly awful toilets in Africa, so I have learned to cope with a fair bit (amazing what a few layers of paper can do) though if something was all over the seat, I would also find somewhere else to go.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
"There was also an unpleasantly-soiled toilet brush on full display."
Yes, that's the one they use to wash the cups with!Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0 -
I never go to Cafe Nero now, though I quite like their coffee. Every single store I have been to is full of dirty tables, and no one seems to bother clearing them (and, no, it's not because the staff are rushed on their feet, in fact they usually seem to be chatting). Why they think that customers are happy to sit at dirty tables, or clear them themselves, after having paid an extortionate price for a cup of coffee is beyond me.
I go to Cafe Nero all the time and my local branch is always immaculate. I have never seen dirty crockery left on the table or dirty toilets, I guess I lucked out with this branch! :rolleyes:0
