Hope one of these each will make DD's teachers happy - what do you think

    SDC11249.jpg

Ok recipe taken from Mr T magazine (and shortened!)

    350g/12oz granulated sugar
    25g/1oz Unsalted butter
175ml/6fl oz can evaporated milk - OK this is where I have just this second realised what the problem was 2.gif2.gif2.gif2.gif2.gif I used condensed milk :rotfl: what a pratt
100g/3 1/2 oz dried sweetened cranberries
    300g/10oz White chocolate chopped
    • Line shallow tin 10 x 8" (as its old style) with baking parchment
    • Put sugar, butter enad EVAPORATED milk in large heavy based pan, heat very gently until ALL the sugar has dissolved
    • Bring to the boil, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 mins (set a timer for this)
    • Immediately remove from the heat and add the cranberries and chocolate. Allow chocolate to melt then stir quickly and pour straight into tin as it will thicken immediately. (Now bear in mind I had the recipe wrong in the first place this thickened really quickly with mine and it was kind of a stodgy lump that I had to mould into the tin)
    • Spread evenly and chill for an hour or so until firm
    • Cut into squares
And on that note I might try it again :rotfl:

Poppytime - thank you for that, it will save Kaz time. You're a poppet. The reason I asked how long it would keep is because I'm thinking of doing something like that as pressies for my siblings.

    Evening everyone.
She seems happier and more settled. The police came about necklace but didnt need to see her just speak to me. He didnt want to upset her.

That's nice that Mum seems happier and more settled Boddy - may it continue. Did the police seem to take it seriously?

Just watched The Flight of the Phoenix for the first time. Interesting. Reminded me of Ice Cold in Alex in a strange sort of way. However, I feel it started quite strong but then fizzled out a bit in the middle and the ending - well. A disappointment. I wanted to see a landing.

But I did like the line which went something like "Everyone wants love, if they can't have love, give them hope, if they can't have hope, give them something to do". A truism if anything...

Just about to declutter some salmon steak and rice with yummy things in it.

OH, thanks Carlsberggal.....just had a thought.....can I sub the attic for cleaning the lampshades.....the 5 downstairs ones are like droplet type things...has to be at least 60 beads on each one and they need doing plus the 2 kitchen ones(with 3 bulbs and shades each) could do with a dust and lick of baby oil (stainless steel)......PLEEEEAAAASSEE Pigpen?
I don't think Pigpen should give in... given the state of your attic, I really think you should make a start :p

They look fantastic!!! but I can see why you couldn't dissolve the sugar in condensed milk... grateful will know I'm sure, but isn't it already a super-saturated solution?? :D

Supper eaten, so I've got a glass of wine and am sitting at my desk trying to get myself motivated to finish some writing that really needs to be done so it meets publication deadline for the end of this month...:o

Soappie. Yes they took it seriously. Seemed to think it starnge that after wearing it for 7 years its suddenly gone. Also the fact she was so upset last week and trying to tell me something.

kazmeister The fudge looks lovely and very well presented.
