Ajmoney, wrap most of it up in bubble wrap then use a black bin liner to wrap and seal. It's waterproof and labels will easily stick to it.

Cut the binbag up as you see fit, I've wrapped three smallish items up this way, saves a fortune in jiffys and boxes!

Cheers zara*elise you are a star, I hadn't thought about a bin bag. What would I do without the flyladies?

    Note to self p 6

got to worked and was asked if was alright - beauty sleep failure then :rotfl:
anyway in my ppa time I nipped to booksellers to collect school xmas gifts as no-one had put the order through - so the ones for my class are all wrapped and I carried on wrapping until I ran out of paper - over 50 books wrapped.
Got to car spares place and for £6 I have a new headlight fitted for me:D
Post office - amazon sale despatched recorded delivery (as is clearly so valuable:D) and DD informed cost of postage/packing coming of her profits - she was fine with that:Dlike she had an option:rolleyes:
but, of course, cannot have an utterly perfect day - got to dentist to find they have phoned me to cancel - 3 times BUT as was at work, phone off!
    So quite productive really *glow*

    - nice ideas but please bear in mind I'm the pauper - they're all better off than me.
Baby sis, who is loaded, might be a good candidate for a luxurious Jo Malone candle though.

Greenbee - seeing you there reminded me - the dog and I have started the pine cone collection - have about 50 so far just from the back garden (and the gardener swept up last Thurs). When we get out in the park I'll take a bag and collect oodles more...

I'm sitting here on tenterhooks for Sexym...

thanks soappie - I'm glad BB is earning her keep!

I've just had an email from my boss (copying HR) to say that they're extending my probationary period because due to the nature of the training they haven't got sufficient evidence to evaluate my performance.

I'm FURIOUS. Firstly, I think it should have been discussed before the email went to HR; secondly it's not my fault they're taking forever with the training; and thirdly they should have been clearer as to what the targets and objectives were for me to pass the probationary period if it was likely to be a problem. My contract says 'satisfactory level of performance'. I've completed everything in my training plan ahead of schedule, and quite frankly could have been productive weeks ago if they'd put a bit more effort in... I'm so tempted to tell him what he can do with his probationary period...

I suspect that it's because he's nervous of the UK contracts (3 months notice compared to 2 weeks in the US), but I really don't think what he has come up with is a valid reason for extending it.
  • thankyou.gifthankyou.gifthankyou.gifall for the birthday wishes, they have brightened up my day.

I ended up spending nearly 3 hrs at the hospital as one Dr wanted me to see a consultant while I was there which involved an hours wait. Had a nice hot chocolate and caught up on Aug/Sept copies of Heat and Now magazine which I never read.. wow celebrity gossip is strangely compelling when you are bored..

Also have horrible toothache. Had a twinge last friday so rang and made an appt for this friday but over the weekend it got worse. So, nothing chewy for me this week.. and thank God for pain killers and clove oil!

Anyway, thank you again for the birthday mentions. I will do a proper post and reply to people later on.

Love and hugs to LadyL and toots especially..

If you give me a budget and ages I'll come up with something else! And seriously, try Oxfam - their soaps and candles are fantastic and great value (I have some delicious scented candles in glass jars for £2.99 each which i'm quite tempted not to give away :D). And no one can criticise you for an ethical decision... besides which, as they're all better off then you, they won't be going to oxfam.

Personally I'd settle for a couple of jars of your jam with a nice ribbon round them - after all, home made jam is priceless :D

Oh yes... I've been to the physio and my ankle is strapped again... I have to do my exercises three times a day... and should probably go to the gym regularly but I'm too tired!

Greenbee - that's pants about the probationary period....

I have been good little miss housewife this evening and v. old style. I have minced the remains of the beef joint from yesterday (I love my Kenwood Chef!) and it is currently sitting in the oven along with the remains of the gravy and onion and stuff and topped with mash for my very own shepherds pie.....

That's awful greenbee! What's the point of asking you to do so much training if it doesn't help them evaluate your performance? Have you spoken to someone about it? And you're right, they shouldn't have involved HR before someone had informed you.

So has your boss told you what areas they want to evaluate you on further?
