Given that my contract says that if my performance is satisfactory my employment will be made permanent, surely his inability to plan/measure is not my problem?

Mind you, I could just put my CV up on monster and take advantage of the 1 week notice period sometime in the next three months...:D

LOL! I would take the latter option, but then I'm not very motivated! I suppose your mentor should be able to clarify things further, it's just ridiculous that despite completing your training earlier than needed, they still need to 'evaluate' you. Have they at least given you a timescale of when they can get back to you?

  • Dh had emptied DW washer before I got home, I'd S/S'd kitchen and living room before work so not looking bad on the surface. I have wednesday, thursday and friday off so 5 days off work to do a mega clean, last bits of xmas shopping and buying family cards. Lets see how I get on shall we? Piggers can always throw a mule at me and I don't want Toots to have a go either!! LOL!

Dh managed a bit of his course work before the sh$te hit the fan again with his DD who is now calling her mum all the names under the sun and saying she wants to come down here; her mum won't answer her phone. I think she's playing one off on the other now and so does DH really, but cos she lives so far away we can't just nip it in the bud by having her down for tea/and or visiting to get to the bottom of it. Honestly we've had ennough trauma to last us a couple of months at least; why all in 3 weeks? Soooooooooo, am sat with a medicinal beer and ignoring the world, reading on here and playing bejewelled!!!! I'm only doing it to keep JillD company! DS should be back in Germany now, but back on the 22nd until the 3rd of Jan!!! WTG. DD2 rather quiet, she went up to her Dad's last night and we haven't seen or heard from her; to be fair it's rather nice!! That sounds mean but if you lived with her at the moment you'd know what I mean!!! Her sister told her to "p£ss of out of my bedroom" yesterday! She doesn't talk with you she talks at you nineteen to the dozen; I honestly think she breathes through her ears as she certainly hasn't got time whilst she's talking/ranting/screaming to breathe normally!!!

    Sorry for the rant again.

Hope Sexym has got on ok today, the flyladies were right behind you scowling at all the nasty people for you!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIVA
Good job cake is not chewy eh :D

Sexy - WELLDONE WOOHOO WTG ETC :D :T:T:T:j:j:j

greenbee - carppy news about your pronationary period

cant remember if I had anythig else to say to anyone.

As I have had such a rubbish day myself I thought "I know! Why not round it off with a nice argument with an insurance company's overseas call centre for a laugh"
So I spent 7 minutes explaining my problem - to no avail of course - then sat listening to the same dire piece of hold music - 4 times - for 8 minutes then I hung up (15 minutes of my life I will never get back) and tried a different number and am waiting for them to phone back. I asked for the [STRIKE]moron[/STRIKE] helpful person who sold me the policy in the first place so I really hope its him that calls back as the mess up is all his fault and oh boy do I need someone to have a go at!!!!
Basically he refused to take details about a claimles incident and promised, when I asked, that they would email to confirm that they didnt need to know. They didnt of course, and on following it up they said they DO need to know, and I am a bit worried that they will try and up the premium .......

Hmmm - do you REALLY want to do that?
It won't hurt to have a look at what's out there... I've had several calls from headhunters recently, and if they're finding my CV at the moment they're looking VERY hard!

It's another 90 days... which means 3 more months of the 1 week's notice... in some ways it works to my advantage, but I really think it's out of order. Just proves my point that my boss is an idiot really...

Hugs Greenbee sounds like a case of out of the frying pan into the fryer work wise. What a bunch of useless get's to think you haven't completed all they have asked of you! Have you any form of recourse regarding their decision?

Wilf - what do you mean by needing a blood transfusion - you don't have to answer if you don't want to. No wonder you haven't the energy though. Hugs x

I had that with mine too... I was so not amused, so I sent something in writing clarifying that I'd told them about it, they hadn't put it on the form, I'd queried it at the time, so if there was any change I expected them to absorb the cost and reserved the right to cancel the policy seeing as they'd caused the problem in the first place. I did read the Ts & Cs on the contract as well, so could quote the termination bits to them...

    Congratulations jjef :D:D:D

Carlsberg - american company, totally hopeless at people management (organisationally, not just my boss), so god only knows whether there is any process for dealing with this. I need to speak to my mentor and discuss with him whether the team want me to stay. If I get a positive response, I'll take it one way - if they're lukewarm then I'll shut up and start looking. There's plenty out there for the kind of thing I do, as it's a small market, and I have a very wide and active professional network. And the contact details of most of the headhunters who deal with my sector ;)

In the meantime, rather than doing the writing I'd planned on this evening, I think I'll find some supper and take a book to supervise the fire :D
