Fair enough Bikertov I haven't read XBox live rules but I remember you could buy controllers (not Sega ones) for the Dreamcast that had extra buttons for auto fire etc. How is this different?.0

I cant believe "MW2" and "kids" are in the same sentence.
This game is 18 rated for a reason.
Your child does not possess the dexterity to play this game because they are a child, and not yet fully developed.
Anyone who lets their kids play these fight simulating games in my opinion is wrong. "u sit infront of the tv little jimmy and play this game because i cant be bothered to take u to a museum or place of educational interest".
this makes me really angry!!!!0 -
You are quite right about the running shoes - in the same way as Ferrari in F1 will try out an aerodynamic mod, McLaren will add an engine mod etc.
BUT - it has got to be within the rules. Rules are there to define the boundaries of what is acceptable within an 'community', what is fair and what is not.
If you want to take part in that community (be it gaming, athletics, F1 etc), you need to work within the rules. If you don't want or like the rules, play by yourself ...
The point of console gaming is really to give everyone the same conditions, so you don't get the stupid situation you get on the PC of people spending a small fortune on the latest hardware to get an advantage. A modded controller really ruins that, even though it only plays on an omission by the programmers.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0 -
Have to say, I'm 26 and as hardened as you get - I found a couple of the bits in MW2 a little "disturbing" shall we say - but then I prolly thought about them more than a kid would.
OP, as you've already decided, I'd go with teaching child the value of competing fairly rather than facilitating their cheating.
Xbox live is pretty hardcore, it's fair to say - it's designed to be played on a perfectly level playing field - no hardware advantages, no tweaking etc - when you think about it, there are very few sports in which you're not allowed to tweak your equipment at all.
You'll always get people cheating, whether it be modded controllers, sticking tape on the screen so they can snipe unscoped...and the rest - all you can do is encourage your son to take joy in knifing cheaters wherever possible and make it clear just how pathetic the rest of society perceive them to be.0 -

That's a bit of an over reaction. Not to mention the decision of the parent, not anybody else..0 -
