Just to add that Microsoft are banning anyone caught doing a simple weapon move on Call Of Duty:MW2 . Controller Modding is taken as serious as they take Modding you Xbox ItselfPeter: Hey Lois... what's this word? Lois: Evil. Peter: And this one? Lois: Knievel. Peter: And this one? Lois: Was. I can understand the piracy bit but I think it's over the top to ban people because of the way they play the games that they have bought or for doing what they like to their property.
If Microsoft have an objection to people using Live this way then they ought to alter Live.
But then they too have a reputation of being bullies... and the other0 -

Live should be a place where only skill differentiates players, not cheating. Banning people for cheating is far enough, it's against the terms that you agree to when you use Live.0 -
Unfortunately cheating is part of life...you can only stop people "taking advantage" or you could say "using their resources to the best", in business terms, by preventing it in the first place. It's really what you define as "cheating".
To me it's only a game...games are for fun but I don't have such a competitive spirit perhaps.0 -

If you're prepared to justify cheating in order to gain an advantage, I guess you do have a competitive spirit.
Running can also be a bit of fun, but it didn't prevent Ben Johnson taking drugs to enhance his performance..he was rightly banned!
A victory won by cheating is no victory

With these mods, you are trying to gain an unfair advantage over others that don't have an (expensive) mod kit installed.
It is all very well if you want to play by yourself, then OK - what difference, but as other have said you should be playing skill against skill in this arena. You should not have an advantage because of better or different gaming kit.0 -
I'm not justifying it, however you do have to define it a bit better. What if Ben Johnson had a better pair of shoes than anyone else.People like that always will try to get an advantage.
Computer gaming allows any advantage re the build of the computer why not build your own controller if you want.
A game, victory or not, with no fun is pointless0 -
like the one on ebay, they wont ban you for it only if you chip the actual xbox. p.s. they work like a charm on gta4 online you dont stand a chance unless you have one that`s why i modded mine.;)Hi All just a quick question
My son wants me to purchase him a Mod Controller for his XBOX360 from ebay that is undectectable, i've been informed by his father that he will get in trouble from Microsoft for using this controller.. Im not sure what can happen if he does have one of these's I.e Temperary Account Suspension or Actually Blocking his account or worse still his XBOX????0 -

You are quite right about the running shoes - in the same way as Ferrari in F1 will try out an aerodynamic mod, McLaren will add an engine mod etc.
BUT - it has got to be within the rules. Rules are there to define the boundaries of what is acceptable within an 'community', what is fair and what is not.
If you want to take part in that community (be it gaming, athletics, F1 etc), you need to work within the rules. If you don't want or like the rules, play by yourself ...0
