Litter Kwitter - Anyone tried it?

I'm thinking of getting a Litter Kwitter (for those that don't know, it's a device that is supposed to help train your sweet little furball to use the people-toilet) & was wondering if anyone else had any experience with it & with trying to train multiple mogs in particular.
It would obviously save me a lot of money in the long term if it worked (no more expensive kitty litter), but they're about £30-ish to buy & money is extremely tight at the moment, so I'd like to know if the thing will work first!

There are loads of videos of people using the product successfully on YouTube (videos of cats pooing!!): I felt a bit sorry for the cats as they didn't all look too happy, kept miaowing! I'm not sure how you'd manage with multiple cats, as the area of litter is very small, you'd need to clean up every five minutes. Unless you have several toilets, but then you'd need several Litter Kwitters. You might be able to find one second hand that you could bleach?
Have you read the threads on cat litters to find out which are the most economical? Have you thought about trying garden soil, shredded newspaper, builders sand or chick crumb in the tray?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I had a look at their website and it was claiming that you could train a couple of cats at the same time... http://www.litterkwitter.com.au/en/index.php
**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

I live in a gardenless flat in the middle of town, so soil is out for me unfortunately. Sand sounds like a good idea, but we don't drive, so getting it home would be a problem (unless I had it delivered, but then the shipping cost would be prohibitve). We don't read the papers, but we do shred all our bills & stuff. Do you think this could work, or would it be too scratchy?
As for chic crumb, I have to admit I'm not sure what that is! :embarasse
I also really liked the idea of getting rid of the litter box, as it does tend to make the place smell a bit, especially at the moment, as all I can afford is smartprice litter.Life is a waste of time.

I've seen these and have always been interested but not sure whether they would actually work as if you only have one toilet you'll have to keep taking it on and off etc.
I'd be interested to know how you got on if you do buy it so keep us posted op x:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
I live in a city centre flat too, tho only one cat!
I think you will find sand too smelly for a flat, and your shredded paper would need to be absorbent like newspaper is. I bet you could find someone in your building or at work that would give you their newspapers each week! I use OkoPlus which seems expensive but very economical as it clumps beautifully - probably not cheap enough for a multi-cat household tho.
Chick crumb is the food given to chicks, can be bought from farm shops and I think delivered too. It's basically made from maize (corn) which is exactly the same as very expensive Worlds Best cat litter but much cheaper! :money: I have not tried chick crumb but lots of breeders rave about it.
I find there is a MASSIVE difference in smells depending what I feed Noah - when he has had some dry foods he makes the entire flat stink, when he has high meat/ low grain or raw food I only know he has poo'd by seeing he has been digging to Australia. Also he used to poo three times a day at the fosterers and only once a day here on different food, which saves a lot of money in cat litter.

It is perfectly possible and easy to homan loo- train cats. We've experiemented BUT I decided not to continue as it was clear my cats complied but were not thrilled. It also denies them the ability to scratch/cover, which is psychologically important to them, making them feel clean.
TBH, most cat owners are cat lover, and would want to deny their cats something that satisfied an ''instict'' or ''psychological need'' s scratching does if they thought about it....many just don't realise how important this is.
I have heard...only anecdotally, that cat who are loo trained mighht be prediposed to ''acting up'' in other ways.
If you do decide to proceed do NOT leave your loo roll in a dipenser by the loo. This is a recipe for an expenive and messy blockage!0 -

Mine won't eat wet food (& it's too expensive anyway), so we get dreadful uber-jobbies that stink out the entire house - we go through a can of Oust a month!Life is a waste of time.

Have you tried your brood on any raw rather than canned or pouch wet? It can be a really cost effective way of adding to dry - Sainsburys Basics have frozen chicken portions for just £1.40 per kilo for example :money: Morrisons sell heart and liver for next to nothing, and some people get offcuts and offal FREE from a local butcher!
Noah doesn't get the toxic, massive pooson Orijen or Applaws dry, he just does one small formed smell-free jobbie per day - I just can't believe the difference in just two days when I change his food. I know these brands appear expensive but they do come onto offer quite regularly and, as there is no waste the portions are much smaller, a bag lasts far far longer. And you would hopefully also save money in vets bills, Oust and cat litter!!

i have two cats and one tray and find oko plus very economical - i've bought two bags in about 6-8 weeks and still have half a bag left
and one of the cats has dodgy runny poops every day too! its definitely the most economical cat litter i've used.

Watched some videos on YouTube and to be honest..no tthat impressed.
What when a human wants to use the loo? Take that thingy out andput it back in all the time...
What about all that litter all over the place?
I have one cat (had 9 at some oint though) and always use wood based litter, get it from PetsAtHome - massive bag, 30 litres for £8.99.
I live in a flat, my flat does not smell of cat.. hmmm pee/poo but I change the litter twice per day as my cat has kidney problems and pees several times per day.
I have a litter box with a hood - although I had to take the flat out as my cat did not like it.0
