Hi,
It is a bit difficult to understand exactly what happened ... but as you have been cleared of any wrong doing, I would suggest that you see a solicitor or CAB .... everyone else on here seems to think it is funny, so I wouldn't waste your energy here ...

As a serious question to everyone else....do private security guards in supermarkets really have the power of arrest?? I didn't think they'd be able to physically detain anyone, let alone arrest.
To the OP - perhaps your wife wouldn't be forced to shoplift if you didn't waste what little money your household appears to have on cigarettes. In addition, if you know your family has a history of dropping dead in the mid 50s, it's highly irresponsible to continue smoking in the full knowledge you'll most likely be depriving your children of a Father in a few years time.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

If they can't detain people then that's great - I am off to start my new hobby. Shoplifting.
Might pop out and get a magnet first. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
People getting kicked by security guards - plain wrong.
OP walked out and resisted detention because clueless of crime - fair enough.
Health probs - not nice, not nice for people to poke fun. Undiagnosed heart problem - knows but not diagnosed, maybe, who knows?
Female companion 1st referred to as 'a female partner', then 'my wife', then 'my partner'. Hmmmm, maybe just OP's way with words or..... a clue to a big fat WINDUP:rotfl:Just joined MSE and is called Mrkringle.
Thanks for the belly laughs, most therapeutic. I'm sorry if that was all serious and true OP, wasn't your fault in that case and I would sue (come friendly backlash and fall on me).
