  • If you don't like it - pay for a taxi for the kids!
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

I have a relative who drives a bus, he once told me that lots of the drivers go straight past some bus stops, especially near to schools, they know from experiece the trouble the kids cause.
Ok it's not fair on the good kids but you can understand why it happens, the driver is doing a difficult job.

there was a school locally, where the bus company had so many problems with the kids at the 2 stops outside, they actually told the school that they wouldnt be stopping there at school closing time.
the school now has staff at each of the stops, & the buses will now stop there again.

With all due respect; unless the OP was actually there at the time the bus is alleged to have not stopped, they can have no idea of the exact circumstances of what happened. Or indeed of the acccuracy of the "boys" allegation.

Others have given many possible reasons for a bus to not stop, and there are probably also many reasons why a few boys might invent a story........who knows what actually took place?

Unless this is a regular occurence, especially as the Op did not witness it, making a complaint such as this is a waste of everyone's time.

My two boys were going to their Gran's after a club yesterday (Friday 11 December) because I was going out for the evening. They waited on the bus but it failed to stop and they had to wait another 15 minutes for the next one. There is only one service that takes them to their Gran's house but they were at the bus stop with a couple of friends which is why I think the driver went passed them. I have emailed a complaint to Arriva and will see what happens. I am disgusted that children are treated this way. The bus wasn't full either as it is only a local service. They were lucky it was only a 15 minute wait as my Mum sometimes has to wait 30 minutes for the bus on this service. There are no other bus companies on this route as Arriva always seem to run them off the road quite literally.

I had a mate that was a bus driver and he actually took pleasure in driving past people in the rain. We don't talk anymore

    No it isn't.

Companies don't tend to do anything on one complaint but if they receive complaints from more than one person on the same thing then they know they have to take action, especially if one of the complainers manages to get a story in the local press.

Hence it's worth complaining but don't expect your complaint to achieve anything unless others have complained as well, or someone has complained who is well connected.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

put your arm lt for the bus regardless wether or not its a request stop and ring the bell to get off regardless if its a request stop. though on the latter people who ring the bell numerous times when its the last ruddy stop and the bus goes no further need lining up and given a good kicking.

as do old women who spend the entire joirney moaning because you are on the bus with a buggy. what harm is it doing you in your seat? nothing so butt the hell out. if a wheelchair wants to get on i get off and wait for the next bus. but this is rare that a wheelchair user wants to use public transport.

i have evryright to travel on a buswith my children and i even have a snsible buggy as opposed toone of hem stupid 4x4 pushchairs.

'ooooh im my day we werent allowed on busses'

yeah and in your day you had outside toilets and coal fires and sent kids up chimneys.

    times change get over it.

as dont ever moan when you are all sat there clogging the busses up with your doris bags [shopping trollys on wheels] because that REALLY gets my goat
There's someone in my head, but it's not me

I often take my husband on London buses in his wheelchair. If there is someone with a buggy in the "wheelchair space" it should not be necessary for them to get off - or even fold the buggy for that matter. All they have to do is they move out of the way for the wheelchair to be got into position then there has always been enough space to put the buggy back in the space in front of the wheelchair. My husband gets some very puzzled looks from the little occupants of these buggies - but he loves kids (he's a really soppy grandad) so he is happy to see them.

My car was at the garage last week, so I caught the bus home as it would be there all day. I'd bought an all day travel ticket from one company.

On going back into town, I just turned up at the bus stop to see which buses would turn up. First one was a Stagecoach.. I wasn't sure if my ticket was for any bus, or just the company I'd bought it from, so I got on and held it up and asked "is this ticket good on this bus?" and he said it wasn't, but asked where I was going, which was about 2 miles away... he then said "You'll be fine, just get on". I did say I was happy to wait another 15 minutes for the next "right type bus", but he was OK with me travelling effectively without a ticket for his company. So I got a "freebie" in effect, which was nice of him.

What gets up my goat on the busses has to be someone playing music from their phone for "alll to hear", or the woman sat behind me who not only needs to SHOUT to her mate sat next to her, maybe that one person on the phone she is talking to who has severe hearing difficulties. Its that irritating ear piercing "laugh" they occasionally shriek.......
